Took my 20 month old for a cough problem, she prescribed so much medication puffs,steroids, antibiotics etc no real X-ray or test was done but she was fast to claim my babies airway is tight . When asked about the medication she had a know it all attitude. If you want to pump your kids with medication with a million side effects in the long run go here

My 7-year-old daughter saw Dr. Vaz at the Just for Kids clinic. The doctor diagnosed her with pneumonia and prescribed her antibiotics. Even dough I told the doctor that she had an allergic reaction to that antibiotic when she was younger, she dismissed my concerns and said that rash and diarrhea were not serious allergic reactions and that she should pursue the prescribed antibiotic. After talking to the allergist today, she acknowledged my concerns, confirm that it isn't a good idea to give her that antibiotic this time when she is sick, and advised me to see the doctor again to get a different antibiotic.
Overall experience with Dr. Vaz was disappointing. She was rude and condescending throughout the entire appointment. I left the office with a lot of concerns and without proper treatment. Now we have to go back to see some other doctor.

We went to visit Dr. Vaz at the Just for Kids clinic as my 2 year old was exposed to Covid from a close family member. She didn’t introduce herself when she walked into the room, didn’t make any eye contact with me, and conducted the PCR test. I had mentioned that my daughter had just turned 2 and therefore her health card was expired. I had spoken to ServiceOntario earlier that day to ask about the validity of her card, they said it was fine, but to inform the doctor/clinic, which I did. Dr. Vaz’s response was that I should go to ServiceOntario, stand in line, and renew her health card. This is extremely dangerous and poor advice considering 1) the government of Ontario has requested for the public to not go in person to offices and 2) we had been exposed to Covid and, as the test results proved, we’re positive for Covid.

Rude and not knowledgable. Gave my son antibiotics even though we found out after he didn’t need them. Tested negative for uti but still gave him antiobiotics and didn’t even call with results or to tell us to stop.
I had to call the St Joes just for kids clinic 20 times until I got through to get results.
I will never ever see this doctor again.

Dr. Vaz is an exceptional doctor and Claire is a great receptionist. Dr. Vaz cares deeply for the children and will always give the parents a straightforward, no-nonsense answer. She doesn't sugar-coat things and at first I found that challenging to understand, but when you realize that she puts all her energy towards the kids, not the parents, you appreciate it.

I am a 40 year old man and I wish she could be my doctor.

My family loves Dr Vaz (and Claire). All 3 of my children have gone to her and Dr Vaz has been an enormous support. She is thorough, straightforward and a wealth of knowledge. I could not have hoped for a better doctor. An amazing duo: Dr Vaz and Claire:

Dr, Vaz is the best doctor I have every had the pleasure to know. I have 5 children and she has been their doctor from birth. She is direct and to the point with her information so the parents know exactly what they must do for their children. She is extremely kind to her patients (the children) and goes above and beyond to care for them. I have a child with extra needs and Dr. Vaz has always gone above and beyond to help us get the proper care needed! This doctor is truly a God send! I am so grateful she has been our doctor and would recommend her to anyone. Claire is also amazing and the two of them work as a well oiled machine. Will be very sad to leave this practice when my children are too old to continue here......

She was just horrible. She is the last person you want to encounter if you are a new parent. My daughter saw her at just for kids clinic and had a fever of unclear reason, which is the most common presentation in a child. When I questioned her about the dose of a medication, she was extremely vague so I just kept asking to clarify things. Instead of spending time to further explain things, she told me "maybe daddy will understand it better". I couldn't believe she put a mother down like that. It's the 21st century and as a female physician it's appalling that she thought my husband would understand her explanation better than me. Then after this she put her head down on the table to show that she was fed up with my questions. Extremely rude, unprofessional, unempathetic, and sexist. Horrible experience.

Dr. Vaz and Claire are quite a team. I would give them 5++++ stars. They have seen all 3 of my kids since birth and they are all now 20 years, 16 years and 14 years. She is very competent and attentive to the needs of both patient and parent. Parents these days are so hypersensitive and are glued to the internet for answers. I never once abused the system and only brought my kids in when they were really sick....never once did she see them with the sniffles during flu season or a hang nail:). Dr. Vaz and Claire are the professionals, let them to their job as they are both highly competent!!
