I live in Hawkes Bay New Zealand where I was fortunate enough to encounter Dr Cleavinger whilst he was a locum at our Hastings Hospital. Having seen numerous specialists in my lifetime, I can categorically state that I have never before been treated with such sensitivity and respect. I am so sad that we have had to say 'goodbye' to this humanitarian...we would always welcome you back to New Zealand with open arms!!

Dr. Cleavinger is one of the best doctors I've seen he really care for his patients. Most doctors treat you like a number. Dr.Cleavinger genuinely cares.

Dr. Cleavinger is one of the best doctors I have seen, and I have seen a lot during my lifetime. He is very kind, considerate and concerned. He takes the time to answer your questions and is very dedicated to finding the cause of your health problems. He is very knowledgeable and when you are in his office you feel like you are his only patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Cleavinger.

Dr. Cleavinger listens well & never makes you feel rushed, stupid for asking a question or uncomfortable. He will take on and investigate the unknowns that previous physicians failed to correctly identify & treat. He received his fellowship, internship & residency from Mayo Clinic. That alone says enough, considering Mayo is consistently rated as the #1 Gastroenterology program in the world. He is undoubtedly the best option in the Midwest. You will not be disappointed.

Do not use this dr or any in his group. The Dr seemed to know his stuff but the staff & nurses were awful. Would not call back, would not make appointments, gave medical advice that was wrong & dangerous. Stay away.
