I had been seeing Dr. Nazareno for 2+ years.

She did an impeccable job in building up my trust in the beginning by extensively explaining procedures and elaborating on different dental concepts. She comes off as calm, collected, and professional. The staff is all very nice and professional as well.

Now for the problems...I went in for a routine cleaning ~3 months ago and Dr. Nazareno told me that I had a filling that needed to be replaced. She told me it was like having a crack in a windshield. Having personally repaired cracks in multiple windshields before, I thought I'd go for it. I was shocked when she exited the room and one of her employees came in and said the price tag was roughly $500. I hadn't had any problems with the tooth as far as discomfort or pain, but I had been seeing Dr. Nazareno for quite some time and she emphasized that it would likely lead to problems down the line if left alone.

So I opted to be proactive and agreed to have the work done and Dr. Nazareno replaced a 5 year old filling with a porcelain filling. Within a few weeks, I was eating some potato chips and started to feel an immense sharp pain in the exact spot where the work was done for the new porcelain filling. I went from having 0/10 pain to 7/10 pain. I called Dr. Nazareno's office and made an appointment. This appointment seemed to go well. I was having less pain - roughly a 3/10 on the pain scale...but I was still having pain. So once again, I made another appointment to go in. This would be the third time I was seen for a filling that was not initially causing me any pain or discomfort. A few days before the appointment, the office called me an informed me "that I may need a root canal". This should have been my cue to get a second opinion.

However, I had already paid $500 and these follow ups didn't cost me anything. After the second follow up, the pain slowly got worse and worse. I went from 3/10 tooth pain from the previous follow up to now having 8-9/10 pain all the time.
Again, I initially had no pain or discomfort prior to Dr. Nazareno replacing a filling that she said would lead to problems if left untreated. Having paid $500 for a service that created a dental problem that previously didn't exist which required multiple follow ups, I am beyond frustrated.

Dr. Nazareno told me if I was still having problems to call and we would "figure it out". I left the office feeling concerned as it seemed as if she wasn't anticipating that it would finally be solved after 3 separate visits. I am sad to say that I don't trust her enough to work on my teeth at this point. I sincerely believe that I would be end up in even more pain based on past results. Also, from reading the reviews, it seems that my story is not particularly unique.

I hope that $500 was worth this review. Time for some Tylenol.

Good office, just busier because they take HMO. But if you can wait, the price is right!
