Penny has a lovely bedside manner, worked with my GP and gave me all the information to make an informed choice. My experience in Kempsey Hospital was flawless and all staff were warm, kind and professional. After care was also seamless. I would highly recommend Penny and I am thankful she services our area.

Penny is absolutely great. Explains everything really well and makes you feel at ease. I had some minor surgery at the private hospital and all went really well with Penny.

Dr Penny Black has been amazing in how she had dealt with me. Clear explanations and planning regarding upcoming surgery, daily visits whilst in hospital and phone call to home to check in and let me know pathology results. The scar is minimal and the operation was successful. She is extremely professional but also very kind and approachable. Thoroughly recommend her.

I don't understand how people can give a negative rating to a doctor just because their staff were perceived to be rude, or because they couldn't get in to see the doctor.

You shouldn't be allowed to rate doctors unless you have actually been seen by them. It doesn't sit right with me that Dr Black is essentially being penalised for being so good at what she does.

Please don't feel that this doctor is your only option in the mid north coast area. There are plenty of other specialists in this field. Dissmissive doctor and rude staff. Didn't look into obvious severe symptoms of a condition that needs surgical treatment.

After a simple procedure I was told there was nothing wrong. I mentioned that the symptoms were not going away and I was then told again that nothing was wrong, to deal with the symptoms and there was nothing that could be done. Not very long after this I saw a gynaecologist in Sydney and was diagnosed with something quite serious and apparently it should have been obvious given the symptoms. I was also treated quite rudely by one of the receptionists. I know that the way a receptionist behaves is not indicative of a Doctors competence, but I do feel it is indicative of the care shown for patients. Most of us are going to the practice with quite sensitive issues and being dealt with rudely can be quite upsetting. Being in a regional area is no excuse for rude staff. There are plenty of polite and capable people looking for work in the Port Macquarie area.
