Told me I was just overweight and should go home lose weight and take Tylenol. I came from Toronto to ns where they wouldn't replace my knee until I was 60.I also have 4 damaged vertebrae that they use to fuse but no more.Other doctors gave me opioids because I was 50 and no surgery could be done. A grape sized cyst also grew on my spinal cord where the damaged vertebrae are that's why I was sent to him,he didn't see a problem.I went to another doctor who said the cyst is too dangerous to remove so he prescribed 2 nerve pills and asked me why this doctor didn't like me.

I have had the pleasure of meeting and being under the care of Dr. Jacob Alant for the past year. He is very kind and speaks to you with a wonderful manner. I feel like he actually cares about my situation. His knowledge of neurosurgery and surgical pursuits surpass anyone else whom I have seen for my problem. If you are lucky enough to be under the care of this physician you are in good hands.

Dr. Alant is very kind, knowledgeable and professional. I had an accident with a spinal cord injury while on vacation in October, 2018. I was devastated, especially being thousands of miles away from home. Dr. Alant provided the best care and patiently explained the procedure to us. I have been back to US and followed up with the neurosurgeons in my hometown. They all commented “He did a really good job!”
His staff were also extremely helpful. Since I was outside of the country, the insurance was extremely complicated. His staff were always responsive and helped us resolve all the insurance questions.
Dr. Alant and his team are the best!

He is one of the best I know. I had L5/S1 protrusion and he fixed me up and have had no problems since 2014. However, L4/L5 burst in 2017 and have had issues ever since, even after a new surgeon in 2018, but he left my neck of the woods. I wish I could see him again!

Dr. Alant and his team are simply incredible. The care, knowledge, confidence and compassion he has displayed was above and beyond my expectations. He performed my microdiscectomy, which went perfectly. I owe more thanks than I could possible give - he gave me my quality of life back. Myself and my family are grateful. Thank you, thank you, Dr. Alant.

Dr Alant is the kindest person you will find. He did a surgery on my husband and would recommend him to anyone who needs a neurosurgeon. His manners and caring for his patients is above and beyond what we have ever experienced. Rick & Hilda Cormier !

Excellent surgeon, very knowledgeable and professional. During all appointments I never felt rushed, he answered several questions in full detail. He did an excellent job performing my surgery and I am very thankful that I had him for my procedure, which was cervical laminectomy.

I am writing this review because in these last few months I have found these reviews to be extremely helpful when navigating the health care system. I can tell you I am very picky and I expect a lot when it comes to a medical expert. I am a nurse who has seen her share of good and bad in the medical field over the past 20 years. Dr. Alant is five star material. He has a very respectful and kind manner about him. I have met many doctors in my 43 years of life and he was definitely one of the most respectful. The appointment was 60 min or longer. I never felt rushed. The procedure I was considering is a controversial one in the neurosurgery field yet I felt Dr. Alant received my many questions and views with such openness and understanding. I felt I was recognized as a self-advocate and health care consumer. He is extremely thorough and patient. I would absolutely recommend him for any member of my family without any hesitation. I am not sure if others will have the same experience but my review is written without hesitation. If there are others out there who are worried or anxious don't be.

Dr Alant is a very kind and caring doctor. His skill in surgery is only manifested in the outcomes, and I can only report that I was better able to walk more briskly, with less pain, after he performed a spinal decompression surgery 10 weeks ago. The relief I felt from claudication symptoms was immediate, and I can only attribute that to advances in spinal surgery, since I had few effects from tissue damage and bed rest, and was able to ambulate without problems within the day. For those who are wary , consider this option if your doctor suggests it.

Dr Alant is such a caring knowledgeable doctor. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. He made us feel welcomed and took his time answering all of our questions regarding him doing back surgery on my husband. Then the wait time for surgery was very short. Dr Alant did the back surgery and again he was awesome. Then we had to go back to see him for check up after surgery and again felt very welcomed. One of the best doctors we have in our health care.
