Ms Bestard is a nice physician and seems to care about people. However, her skill and knowledge level is deficient in relation to rare forms of neurological conditions, peripheral neuropathy, autonomic neuropathy relative to digestive breaks, peripheral neuropathy pain treatment, GI neurological pain that require GI Digestive Diseases involvement and other more complex / rare forms of neurology like CASPR2 and VGKC neurology.

This means that neurology was unable to diagnose my conditions and I needed to be referred to neurologists GI surgeons, Pain Specialists and Digestive Disease / Motility experts at the UAH, Edmonton and Calgary for diagnostics and treatment.

She may be OK for treating the basic neurological headache or nights in but anything more than that, her skills are insufficient.

Also, it was much too difficult to book appointments and she reduced her treatment office hours to do admin work at the hospital. It appears she doesn’t hold much interest in direct patient care.

Dr Jennifer Bestard is a physician of record who, in her capacity as Central Zone medical director, interfered with best practices of physician care for patients in a hospital in Red Deer. She did not have any contact with the patients and did not respect the attending physician. A great corporate player perhaps and Pharma citizen; but I would recommend finding a physician that believes in the Hippocratic oath....'and will abstain from all wrong doing and HARM.

Dr Bestard is fantastic. I haven't had great experiences with neurologists, but she is exceptional. It took a bit of trial and error to find the right treatment plan for me, but she was endlessly patient, and never made me feel like I was exaggerating or being a baby about my pain... And now that I'm on the right medications for me, I feel like I have my life back! Her receptionist Cindy is a delight as well, I always enjoy chatting with her while I'm in the waiting room.

Been on the waitlist for 3.5 years. 1.5 years ago their office called and said I have to go to a migraine seminar even though I don't have migraines to be able to see her. I wasted half a day doing that and then called the next week to ask when is the appointment. They told me April. 2 more April's have come and gone and I'm still on the list... But appointments are delayed due to covid-19. But she clearly isn't responsible by making people wait and suffer for years to waste their time and never see them. Either put patients on a waitlist of a dr who can see them within a reasonable and responsible timeframe or see the people who've been jumping through your hoops for years.

I waited to see her for 4 years. She never recorded anything about m appointment for my other doctors, changed my treatment plan after my appointment without checking with me, and never called for my follow up appointment like she was supposed to. Her receptionist has been so kind and tried really hard to help me.

Very poor and rude receptionist. Dr.Bestard is involved in too many other things to properly look after her patients. Doesn’t make contact often enough to even know what’s going on with her patients!
