He came highly recommended by a friend who had LASIK. I went for a free consultation and found him to be very warm, personable and attentive. Most important for me was that he projects a real sense of concern, experience and confidence.

His Central Park West office is modern, high tech, and warm. This is not a clinic like so many of the LASIK Centers I have heard about. The Staff are friendly and informative. They told me about the different payment plans that are available.

I have to admit, the day I had the procedure, I was a little nervous, but Dr. Nightingale was so reassuring that I felt very comfortable. Best of all, within 15 minutes, I was done! The next day I couldn't believe it, no more glasses or contacts.

My only complaint, why did I wait so long to have this procedure

Terrible experience with both doctors in the office. I spent hundreds of dollars and left with an overcorrect contact prescription and a much worse eye condition and an incorrect diagnosis. Every time I went in for a follow up the doctor had no memory of my last visit and I had to start all over again. When I called the office to say that I was having a bad reaction to treatment they were rude to me said the doctor was away for the weekend and then no one ever followed up with me. Had someone called me back and listed to my issue, I might have saved months of horrible headaches and eye pain. Eventually I went to another doctor who told me I had a severe allergy to preservatives from the eye drops the other doctor had put me on and immediately solved the issue. Worst experience of my life.

The doctor strongly pushed for his services regarding Lasik operation which as I found out later was not a good fit for me and could have led to complications later (confirmed from multiple sources including Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat hospital). Even though I clearly said that I'm not ready to make a decision yet, he cheerfully insisted that he would take some tests at no obligation to me. His assistant kept calling me about the surgery for a couple of months borderline pressing me into it and when I refused, Dr. promptly sent me the bill for $244 for his unsolicited services. When I disputed it, he reported it to credit agency. Extremely unethical doctor.
