Dr. Loochtan was my dentist as a child, and even as a little one, I knew that something wasn't right about the way he did things. Dr. Loochtan has hands down the worst attitude of any healthcare professional my family has been to. Very condescending to me, my parents, and my siblings. He lectured my college-educated parents on the state of our dental health like they were 3-year olds. He was very adamant about keeping my parents separate from me during my treatments, no matter the circumstance or how much I wanted their support. He would lie to me and my siblings about our treatments and harshly berated my parents for what he perceived as deliberate neglect of our dental health, despite them being strict about brushing, flossing, and eating right. Only good memory was the video games in the kid waiting area, which were great to get your kid's mind off the argument he/she knows you will have with this walking definition of a "God-complex." Parents, please take your business elsewhere. There is another practice DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET run by Dr. Faith Madden that puts this one to shame and has improved the dental health of me and my siblings tremendously, without any of the judgement or arrogance you will see from Dr. Loochtan. I am amazed that this guy is even still in business, given how quickly word-of-mouth spreads in Pickerington. Take it from a kid now 20-something who remembers seeing his Mom and Pop walk out of this guy's office angrier than he had ever seen and ashamed to have even given this guy a single penny.
-P.S. Don't play the "It's his parents feeding him this" card. I'm pretty sure I can remember a dentist who mistreated my family pretty clearly.

Went once. We won't be back. He is rude. He is condensending. He lies to the kids about their treatment. I have never been so taken back by a professional on how we were treated. We have too many choices with the care of our children. Run don't walk from this practice.

We've gone to him a few times and won't be going back. The man has zero patience with, nor does he seem to even like children. He has the personality of a brick too. Save your time and money, go elsewhere. This man is awful.

I have 2 kids with autism and Dr Loochtan in their dentist. He is so patient with my kids and even waits for them to sit on the dental chair only when they feel ready. Slowly but surely my kids gain the confidence to sit by themselves as Dr Loochtan does not recommend that anybody holds my kids down. It's all a friendly environment and Dr Loochtan and his staff are willing to spend the time my kids need to get acclimated. I am very thankful of Dr Loochtan and will keep him as our dentist for years to come.
One of my sons had the beginning of a cavity and Dr Loochtan wants to keep an eye on it for now. I think it's great that we can afford to delay the filling under Dr Loochtan's watchful eye.

Not sure he should be a pediatric dentist at all with his demeanor. He lacks patience and is very unprofessional with his snarky uncalled for comments. Will never take my children back there.

Zero bedside manners. I took my children to see him twice. That was enough for me. Not sure how this man decided to be a pediatric dentist. He made no attempt to understand my children or to make them comfortable at their appointment. Honestly, No clue how he is still in business.

Dr. Loochtan needs a refresher course on people skills and intereaction with children especially! He man handled my 4yr old daughter (who is autistic) and actually tried to pry her mouth open! Completely unacceptable! He was rushing, he was very impatient and insensitive! Her file was supposed to be notated, he pointed out that it was and he still neglected to act accordingly! I would not recommend him to anyone! He is also very condensing to his patients as well as staff!!

Dr Rick has been great to my 3 children. He starts the appointments by showing them the instruments that he is going to use and even lets them touch the instruments. My kids are curious so they think it's great. Dr Loochtan explains the procedures well and answers all our questions patiently. One of my kids needed to have treatment done under general anesthesia, at Children's Hospital. I was a little scared but Dr Loochtan and his staff guided me through the process and reassured me every step of the way. Even during the procedure at the hospital Dr Loochtan came out to the waiting area to let me know how my son was doing and what he found on the x-rays. It was such a relief. Dr Loochtan did very good dental work and I won't hesitate to continue taking my kids to him. Now he has a DVD player over each dental chair and the kids get to choose which movie to watch during their cleaning or filling. So going to the dentist is actually fun for my kids- thanks to Dr Loochtan and his staff.

I have been a patient of Dr. Loochtan's for the past 15 years. I couldn't think of a better dentist to go to! From making sure that I am comfortable at all times during each cleaning, procedure, braces, etc. to explaining any and everything possible about the appointment or answering questions I may have, Dr. Loochtan has always been most helpful. Dr. Loochtan is truly passionate about his profession and cares for each of his patients, their health, and families.
