Pat, his surgery coordinator, failed to submit my husband's paperwork on time. He made sure he had his clearances done well in advance and hand-delivered them all to Pat. Pat waited until the day before surgery (3 weeks after receiving all of the clearances) to submit everything to the insurance company. Needless to say, my husband's surgery was cancelled because coverage was denied and we did not have any time for an appeal. Dr. Prokurat waited until seeing all of his patients for the day to call the insurance company for a peer-to-peer review. Had he called earlier there would have been a better chance that the surgery would have been approved. Apparently, seeing new patients aka new business is more important than helping a patient who had been on liquid for days prepping for his surgery.

Dr. Prokurat is an amazing doctor! He takes the time to understand the patients and helps them choose the right surgery for them.
