Dr. Julsen has been my GP since he arrived in Spokane. He conducts my annual physicals thoroughly and answers all my questions, and I typically have many. His referrals have been good. His office picked up an afib I didn't know I had and he oversees my routine and not-so-routine needs. His office gets me in when I have urgent needs and the wait time once in the examining room is reasonable. To say he is personable understates his friendliness and responsiveness.

I have been seeing Dr. Julsen for over 5 years now and will hopefully never have to see another provider. I would recommend him over any other provider I have seen in the past.

I went to Dr. Julsen with a bright red nose that felt broken and was swollen drastically. A medical student working with the doctor examined me alone in the room while Dr. Julsen left. They sent me away with a nasal spray and a prescription for a z-pack, even though he didn't think it was bacterial. My condition worsened so I went to Rockwood's urgent care canter on the south hill, where Dr. Larson basically told me that Dr. Julsen had missed the diagnosis. He gave me a shot of an appropriate antibiotic, but it was too late. Within days, I was in the hospital overnight with cellulitis of the nose - an MRSA or staph infection - which would not have responded to the z-pack to begin with. When all was said and done, my medical bills totalled nearly $2000. Rockwood "peer reviewed" the case without contacting me for input and - surprise, surprise - decided that they would not be taking responsibility.

I came to Dr. Julsen in the urgent care at Rockwood Clinic after a rough experience with a PA over in their sports medicine clinic. Dr. Julsen was very professional and had a great bedside manner. He quickly figured out what my issue was, realized that I needed to see a specialist. He found a specialist, made sure they took my insurance, and is working on making the connection for me. He discovered the boot I was using for my ankle injury was the wrong one and found a lighter more comfortable one for me. He was able to answer all of my questions, and those of my husband, clearly and concisely, without using technical jargon and speaking over my head. I found out after leaving that he also has a family practice, and I think I found my new primary doctor!
