Dr. Serxner is an amazing doctor! I would give him 5 stars. He has great bedside manner, explains things clearly, and listens. He is compassionate and you can tell really cares. My problem is his Medical assistant, Bryce, is awful! She doesn't know how to do her job, she doesn't return phone calls, she messes up on paperwork and lies about it to try to cover her butt. She messes up constantly and it has cost me, by my surgery being rescheduled twice now because she didn't submit paperwork in time. It's a shame that such a wonderful doctor has such a bad medical assistant. I would recommend Dr. Serxner in a heartbeat, but I would also recommend that Dr. Serxner find himself a new Medical Assistant, because she makes him look bad.

this doctor is consistently late to my appointments by an hour or more where he has blamed his staff or his staff has blamed him for taking other patients, legitimately I have watched him holding counsel with other physicians on other patients and discuss personnel issues while making me wait to see him at a point that he was already 45 minutes late for his appointment with me. He has then accosted me for complaining stating that his staff is "not happy with me" for being upset about him being late, that I "do not own his time" and he "does not run his office like a bank" all in the presence of his office manager who is obviously his advocate, not the patient's. In addition to these issues this physician nearly cost me my job by holding my ADA paperwork for a month which I had to go to the office demanding on the day it was required to fax it to my employer. His office manager and the physician were both involved in creating this near late reporting and then have the audacity to accuse me of thinking I am treated differently than other patients, to which I replied "I certainly hope you do not treat all your patients this poorly" but no response was given to this comment. If you have an option, please run away from this doctor if you value your time and if you wish to be treated with the respect you deserve as a human!

So far I have met with Dr. Serxner once by recommendation of my GP. His knowledge and explanation seems on track so far.. I waited 1 1/2 hours before I was taken form the waiting room to another room to wait for another 15 minutes. The office, only at that time, explained there had been some unexpected issues he attended to that day. Nothing was said when I arrived nor during the entire time I was waiting. When I asked about it, no one seemed to think it was a problem that it took that long to be seen. Dr. Serxner ordered further tests (CT, etc). It took 4 months before I was able to receive authorization to get the tests because his office staff could not organize themselves, or the doctor, to submit the proper paper work. I finally was able to get the tests approved by having my GP submit the requests. I have my 2nd appointment with him in August. Mind you I was initially referred to him last November. There were other issues that required delays in my initial appointment, including having the office call and provide no explanation as to why they were cancelling my appointment and the next available was a month later. I'm thankful this is not a matter of life or death, but I'm seriously considering the idea of starting over with someone else. Maybe God is trying to tell me something.

We were referred to Dr Serxner by multiple other primary doctors for my wife's extruded disc in her lower back with loss of function. We had been to another Neuro in Bakersfield and felt discarded by their staff. This wasn't the case with Dr Serxner. He was very knowledgeable about our situation and spoke to us in a professional yet humble manner. He listened to all we had to say and spent 45 minutes describing everything. His staff was a pleasure to work with. The surgery went smoothly and my wife feels new again. We highly recommend Dr Serxner and his staff.
