    Biography

    Makoto Iwahara, M.D. is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his M.D. from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Iwahara completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Rochester General Hospital at the University of Rochester and his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Genesee Hospital at the University of Rochester. Currently, Dr. Iwahara is an Attending Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital, where he is actively involved in teaching. In addition, he is a Visiting Attending Physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Iwahara is a member of several medical societies, including the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology, and currently serves as the President of the Japanese Medical Society of America.
