After seeing numerous neurologists, Dr. Hyzak was finally able to sort out my systems and explain the underlying problems to me in a kind, thoughtful and easy to understand manner. He took his time, putting me at easy after almost 2 years of increasing symptom of depression, anxiety, confusion and cognitive issues. I would highly recommend him!

After going for a consultation Dr. Hyzak stated that he could not help me with a prescription and gave me information on another doctor that I should go see for my specific issue. I never gave Dr. Hyzak consent to speak to anyone in my family about my case or to send any postal mail. However, today I came home to see that a letter was on my dining room table from Long Island Psychiatric Services, stating that my case was being closed due to non-compliance and refusal to adhere to Dr. Hyzak's treatment plan. Now, not only is my entire family aware that I went to see a psychiatrist, they think that I was non-compliant after doing so, when I actually did exactly what Dr. Hyzak asked to do. I would never recommend Dr. Hyzak as a result of my confidentiality being broken.

I was looking for a psychiatrist that fits my needs for quite some time in my area, until I found Dr. Hyzak. Very professional doctor that I highly recommend. Very thorough and attentive. I've been feeling a lot better since starting the treatment plan he gave me. He gave me answers to all my questions, which made me understand better what I am going through and what I can do on my end as well to improve my well being.
I am also in therapy in the same office, which helped me so much! It's a pleasure to return to Dr. Hyzak's office! The staff is very professional and polite as well, they really make going to the psychiatrist a positive experience!

Dr. Hyzak takes comprehensive history and he pays attention to medical problems as well. He diagnosed me correctly and he prescribed combination of medications, which has been actually helping me. I also see one of his therapists and I like her very much as well.

This guy is a quack. I don't know where the other reviews came from, but during the first appointment he barely even listened to me, and kept looking at his watch. Towards the end of the first appointment, he asked me to increase the dosage of my medication "just in case" and that he is probably going to add other medications "just in case" as a preventative measure even though I was doing well on the current dosage. He is the first psychiatrist to act like this, and I've seen many of them. No one ever starts changing medication on the first appointment as a "preventative measure." When I saw him the second time, he just started mumbling something about his diagnosis of my condition, and kept mumbling until the end of the appointment. He never asked me any questions about how I was doing. He asked me to double the dosage at the end of the meeting. This guy should not even have a psychiatric license. Avoid him at all costs.
