I had initial blood work done by my primary and multiple area came up abnormal which is why she told me to see a rheumatologist. I was in pain all the day and it felt like the pain was down to the bones themselves. I was exhausted all the time, yet couldn't sleep. I had severe depression and when I got up in the morning it would take about 45 minutes before I could stand up fully due to stiffness. I brought him my lab results, he pressed on my limbs, then looking perplexed told me it was stress. He told me to rub sesame seed oil on my body prior to showers daily, meditate and told me it was stress. He gave me a prescription, without telling me what it was for or why and told me to make a follow up appointment. I had to go home and research the diagnosis and medicine. The medicine was for Plaquenil, which has helped with the stiffness in the morning and the diagnosis was arthritis in four or more joints. Before I could make it to my next appointment, which I was not planning to keep, I received a call that he was no longer going to be seeing patients and I need to find a new doctor. I found it bizarre that with the abnormal results on my labs, that he wouldn't do further blood work to rule out the areas of concern. I was not thrilled with him as he had zero bedside manner, his staff was inattentive and the office itself was awful.

I went to him 3 times in past 5 months for RA. I am not in remission and this week have had alot of pain. Out of no where, I get a call from his office, that he took an immediate retirement. No letter, or any other notice. His license is clear, however two sexual misconduct reports from 2 yrs ago were just filed with the Dept of health. I do not have any other doctors to go to now. I cannot believe he abandoned his patients and did not call me back.

This was my first time seeing an adult doctor and it was quite awful...i was referred here to test for Lupus as i have been struggling with multiple undiagnosed symptoms for years. After feeling around he says quite rudely to me and my grandmother he thinks nothing is wrong with me and that he wasnt running any tests..that i was a healthy young boy that needed to rub oils, sleep, do yoga, and most importantly meditate..he acted as if i was a waste of time and lasty said that since he had to write a diagnosis he would write the past false diagnoses that other doctors have used...wouldnt recommend at all..rude and unhelpful, did nothing for the $185 charged to insurance.

Horrible availability scheduling appointments, never less than several months out. When I tried to reschedule my appointment, the staff was very rude and told me there wasn't anything else available for months. I didn't even make it in to see the doctor because of issues with the staff.

Dr. Bashist can be caring when he wants to be. I have Lupus SLE. There are times when I am in severe pain. It has effected my lungs, heart, and brain. I was told to meditate and use the oils. I pray on a regular basis and use oils, not that into holistic healing, but have a great team of doctors caring for me. Until today! He was rude. I think offended because I went to the Mayo clinic, which I let him know beforehand. He wanted to start me on a drug that I was not familiar with and I wanted get a review of all my mess. He didn't want to communicate with the rheumatologist at the clinic nor did he want to give me a script for the blood work that I need. I think egos are working here. I don't have time for that. I called my primary care. She'll take care of it and I called the Mayo clinic. They will call him as well. Good luck to the rest of you. He is fired!

My experience was much like the other fibromyalgia patients. Dr Basisht did not bother to examine me nor even read my records before telling me that he didn't know why I should have muscle pain throughout my body, stiffness and tingling when waking up so bad that I can hardly move, depression, difficulty thinking clearly at times, fatigue, and great difficulty sleeping. According to him none of these are symptoms of fibromyalgia and what I need to do is meditate and do some yoga and then I'll be fine. When I asked if he knew of a fibromyalgia support group he told me, "that's just a group of people sitting around complaining about their ailments, just do the yoga". Maybe he's a good rheumatologist but he SUCKS as a fibromyalgia specialist.

This doctor was aweful! Cared more about whether I saw a different rhumatology doctor than helping me. Sent me home telling me he couldn't do anything for me. I will never go back!

Excellent doctor..I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and he is an authority in it. He also is unconventional, prescribing a massage oil which I believe helped me immensely. Before dismissing oils and massages completely, people should try them as a supplement to their medicine course. For certain chronic diseases like RA, it works!..
