ratemds.com does not have any "current" information or ratings for Dr. McMillian. I have been his patient from March to October 2023. I first felt like he took his time and cared. I think he might have been a competent dentist 10 years ago. By my fourth visit, including 3 unnecessary root canals; I realized :
1. Dr. McMillian should have referred me to an Endodontist.
2. Appointment setter, ("B"), Refused to give me an URGENT Appointment 3 times for Complications.
3. My insurance "Approved EMax" (Lithium disilicate) dental crowns, and Zirconia was fabricated.
4. Whomever cemented the first Temporary crowns used PERMANENT Cement (glass ionomer) by mistake.
5. Dr. McMillian percussed ("hammered") the crowns 15 Times, before 5 fractured off my remaining roots. He should have KNOWN to Cut them off, by the 3rd WACK.
6. He Never filled one cavity; despite my needing several restorations.
7. Dr. McMillian did not use an Electronic Apex Locator, and fractured gutta percha beyond all 3 root apices.
8. He jammed crown 8 on tooth #9, and crown 9 on tooth #8; causing my gums to bleed and intense PAIN. Then said, "We might have to Numb you". NO !! Can you Image when the medication would have "worn off" ?!
9. His "office manager" "Discharged" me from Dr. McMillian's care; because, I Refused to Allow the same crowns to be Permanently Cemented.
10. Only a Doctor can end his Responsibility to his Patients, with a Certified Letter (signed); and 30 Days for the Patient to find a new provider; and Continue Care for an "Emergency".
11. Dr. McMillian Never Provided Necessary Oral and Written Information on the "Root Canal Treatment" for (legal) Patient "INFORMED CONSENT".
12. I found out too late; Appointment setter, front desk ("B"), had me sign an electronic pad, that DUPLICATED my signature on multiple pages (I did not read). She is not a doctor.
13. My Insurance was Billed and Paid $5,000.°°+ in October 2023 for Services Not Rendered; and, after the "office manager" "Discharged" me.
14. All my 2023 Dental Benefits were Used/Expired. I have No Teeth. I am 54 years old. I would have been better had I never gone to a dentist.
15. The office charged $76 for a "Comprehensive Oral Cancer Screen", that was NEVER performed; because, I REFUSED.
16. A BROKEN Dental mirror was used multiple times, without REPLACING ! Broken mirrors cannot be properly Sterilized! !
Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, and Herpes are CONTAGIOUS !!
17. Patients are Billed for oral rinses their insurance will cover for FREE (if written as a Prescription).
18. The doctor, staff, and SAGE Dental Office do not have "Current" Medical Dental Equipment for "Standards of Care".
19. "Standard" root canal treatment is beyond Dr. McMillian's "Scope of Practice", when I was his patient.
20. I had Hope and Faith in his caring and ability; until, he did Harm and "covered up" what he saw on Xray.
21. It is not just me. Other patients are Suffering.
22. And, a non-licensed "hygienist" Filed away my Enamel (apparently thinking it was "tartar", wrong tool).
23. The "office manager" tried to have me arrested; because, I Insisted (politely) on a "Copy of All My Dental Medical Records". She never Provided the multitude of Dental Images, she tried to say did not exist.
24. Thank You Officer, for the "heads up".
25. I am Sharing to HELP Others; or, my Suffering is "in vain".
26. SAGE Corporate called me. We spoke. She never responded to my thorough email sent 5 times.
27. I am not suing. I just want, need, and deserve my teeth fixed.
28. Do Not go to SAGE Dental Winter Haven, nor to Dr. B at Reunion Village (Davenport), Florida.

My wife have been going to Dr. McMillian for over 25 years and during that time, we never had a complaint or concern S several years ago I was at the front desk to pay and set the next appointment when I overheard a conversation between a caller and the receptionist. The caller requested an appointment to have a tooth pulled. The receptionist responded with " Dr. McMillian does not make an appointment to pull a tooth without first examining your teeth and gums.
This is what I call "A real Professional Doctor.

This has got to be the dirtiest dental office I have ever been to. I watched him take his gloves off in one room & set them down to walk into my room.He then walked back in to the other room & picked up those gloves and put them back on. Seriously? How expensive could gloves be that he feels the need to re-use them? That mortified me. The light fixture over my head was disgustingly dirty & looked like it hadn't been cleaned & the equipment in the office is old as can be. Every dental office I've been to recently has all updated, nice, & new equipment. He is very lucky I didn't call the Health Dept. on him which I should've done. Then I had a procedure done on a Thursday & was so sore from it that I couldn't go to my next day appt. Well there clearly wasn't 24 hrs time between the 2 appts (that they scheduled) for me to give 24 hrs notice of cancellation. They have been sending statements to me since then for $80 for canceling my appt w/out giving 24 hrs notice. Highly unrecommended!!!!
