Jamie Picus is a disgrace to the mental health field, and to be more blunt a very mean an childish individual. For someone who is a Dr. and has not been working from her office in almost 2 years, she is a disgrace in my humble opinion. If you are an honest I individual and seek a PROFESSIONAL and EMPATHETIC Dr. for your mental health issues, please look elsewhere. In addition her front desk individual, Jenny, is the dumbest, laziest and most miserable person I’ve ever come across in the mental health field. She will only EXACERBATE any condition you may have. The other Drs in this office are friendly, cordial and professional. Dr Picus and Jenny are an abomination. I cannot be more honest from my personal experience. Please, avoid these two for your mental well being.

If you are looking for a mental health professional that will worsen your disease, Picus is your match. If you actually want help by a professional look elsewhere, for your sake. RUN! She fails to follow standard of care protocols and lacks knowledge on the effects of psychosocial stressors on minors.

I was reading these bad comments and was shocked. I used Dr. Picus for my troubled daughter who was having anxiety and depression for a plethora of reasons. She was amazing and extremely helpful. She is extremely aware of alienation vs kids having reasons for not wanting to spend time at a parents home. She is also very helpful in giving the parents an opportunity to learn to parent to the child. If that parent does not want to learn, she gives the kids tools to use to better cope with parental issues. Not sure how she could do any better.

Horrible. Stay away at all costs. She is all about the $$$$ and had relatively low concern for child patients involved in high-conflict divorce who preferred relationships with enabling parent of alienation behavior.

Dr. Picus understands the dynamic of the entire family. I have seen her alone and also with my son and husband and each time we walk away with a hugely increased awareness of our issues. She sees right through to the heart of problems and her compassion is culpable. We trust her 100% , with full confidence that her evaluations are spot on. We are blessed to have found her. Dr. Picus came highly recommended to us by an esteemed professional and no wonder! She is forthright, honest and brilliant. 5 star all the way!

People who have bad reviews must have not been willing to do their own work because she is amazing and saved my life.

Although Picus is caring and knowledgable, she is not a good psychiatrist. She constantly told stories about her other patients and rarely remembered what we discussed in past sessions. It never felt like she was listening to me and understanding what I said, but rather interjecting with random anecdotes.

Dr Picus listens only enough to create her own version of what you are feeling and experiencing. She wants to be the one to decide what is true and what isn’t. First rule of a good therapist is to listen; Dr Picus loses track of what was said in previous sessions and mixes my story with that of other clients. She takes things I’ve said out of context and deliberately repeats them back to me and assigns the wrong motives/feelings for what was said. She is unfocused, unwise, and more concerned about being right in her assessment than she is with understanding the problem.

Dr. Picus is uncaring (confuses patients with other cases), has no moral courage (cowardly), and is dishonest. She will change her story to fit her present narrative and will always push the status quo.
