Dr Peter Ellman performed a cardiac bypass x2 on my father 1 year ago and my father was given a 98% survival rate . My father did well initially but then quickly declined for reasons unknown . Dr Ellman was not back to see my father until he was intubated and unresponsive . He came into the room in SICU and said “ I don’t know what the F ( expletive ) happened “ and recommended we seek legal against the hospital . It was concerning thet he was unaware that other physicians could write orders (NPO) without him knowing as well ( he asked the nurse if this was allowed in our presence ) . He then backtracked when the administration of the hospital became involved . Unfortunately it is very difficult to sue any hospital / MD in the days of Covid with staffing , low standards etc .
This experience with Dr Ellman made our experience with my father’s unexpected death much different than it should have been . In addition to being very sad , it was traumatizing to all family members involved .
That being said - I would not recommend this physician or his staff (PAs) to be responsible for anyone”s loved ones.
