Dr Whitman is friendly and the kids like him. He is not a good diagnostician and hurries through. Does not listen to parents and often says to come back if not better soon. We almost always end up back because he has not done anything the first time around and/or made an incorrect diagnosis. Twice in the past year he diagnosed my child completely wrong.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Whitman's for four years. My son for 16 months. He is a wonderful, compassionate doctor who always takes the time to answer our questions. I have never felt rushed in an appointment. He is great with my children.

Avoid this doctor if you have a premature infant who has feeding issues, severe constipation, reflux and won't eat well. He is far too conservative in attacking a problem that is obviously concerning and serious to parents. He refused to even look into a GI consult or testing. The last straw was when my wife called him about our son's latest concerns with constipation (going only 1 x in 7 days) and his advice to her: " keep adding Karo Syrup to his formula and hope that he builds up enough trunk strength that he can start eating cereal" ! Enough said
