Biography
Carl F. Sloan, MD, a life-long resident of South Carolina, received his magna cum laude Bachelor of Science in biology and magna cum laude Bachelor of Arts in government from Wofford College in Spartanburg. He received his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Sloan performed his internship in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins University's Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital's Krieger Eye Institute. Most recently, he completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. At Coastal Eye Group, Dr. Sloan practices in our Myrtle Beach office and provides a wide range of services including medical and surgical glaucoma, as well as cataract surgery.

I've seen Dr. Sloan twice (3 month apart due to full bookings) and had to wait one time for over 2 hours in the crowded waiting room with other frustrated patients & an hour in the exam room (which the front desk will tell you is normal). I found him to be very arrogant and unprofessional. Have found a much better doctor at a different facility.
