Dr. Vanhouten was one of the only doctors I have ever been to who actually listened to me. The only other medical professionals that have ever listened are on his staff! Sierra Family Medical clinic is worth the drive for me. He is genuinely concerned and and very helpful. He referred me to a specialist for a diagnosis of my symptoms. I had been to another area doctor and was told that I needed to radiate my thyroid, and immediately stop breastfeeding my newborn. I would no longer have a thyroid gland and I would have been on thyroid hormone replacement medication for the rest of my life. I was so glad I went to Dr. Vanhouten for a second opinion, as I had Postpartum Thyroiditis and definitely did not need to radiate my thyroid, or stop breastfeeding. Three and half years later I am still the proud owner of a thyroid! And a very healthy previously breastfed child. Thank you Dr. Vanhouten!
