I visited Dr. Hiltz twice to ask for help managing depression medications. During my second visit, he asked me to promise that I will follow any of his recommendations, including psychiatric hospitalization or antipsychotic medications, during my military spouse's upcoming deployment. He reasoned that military spouses often need to be "stitched together" when life becomes too difficult. When I declined because I barely know him, am high functioning and stable, and have no history of psychosis or self harm, Dr. Hiltz declined to treat me. He was rude, insulting (calling me "pseudo-sophisticated" for stating that I want to understand recommendations before following them), and discriminatory of military spouses.

Dr. Hiltz was very peremptory and authoritarian...very little eye contact and no attempt to establish a human relationship. He announced that he could cure me if I was obedient and then took me off several meds cold turkey...precipitating a psychotic episode that earned me 2 weeks in a psych hospital. I love my therapist at Front Street and I love Kim Young Oak...but every time I catch a glimpse of Hilz it makes my teeth grate. Perhaps he is incredibly skilled...but just not the right match for me! I didn't enjoy spending my skiing vacation hiding in bed from the maids that we're trying to kill me..lol!!!

Dr.Hiltz and his partner Kim Young Oak, ARNP are only in the business for money! My son had seen Dr.Hiltz two years ago and started having some issues and wanted to make an appointment with him. But to see him again... the first visit was going to be 475.00, he has no insurance. So he made an appointment with Kim Young Oak, ARNP, her cash price is 250.00 even though in the recent past my son had seen both doctors. I went with my son to the session. She told him that she thought his mental state was worse that having CANCER! What a thing to say to a patient.

She also has a dog that follows her around and she had to leave our session so the dog can take a pee break. I don’t pay 250.00 dollars so she can take care of her dog!

Go anywhere........ STAY AWAY FORM THIS HELLISH PLACE!

I know this doctor. He is knowledgable and sound clinically. But his practice rules are a bit strict.
There are people who cannot or will not tolerate such rigidity.

This poor man needs a lesson in psychology. He: Lacked any pretense of patience, or care. Was visibly bothered by patient’s opinion & not interested in relevant logs detailing sleep duration, meds, bedtime, etc. Is rude and condescending: ~you seem to know it all~ and ~you have it all figured out, don’t you?~ Refusing the case, says ~there is the door~ ~the case may interfere with my retirement~ I pity the fool that buys his practice. Diagnosis of bi-polar without enough discussion felt rushed. Wants mindless compliance with Rx for Seroquel and Lamictal. Complete lack of eye contact his seemingly forced initial handshake gave me immediate pause. Based only on a handshake, however premature ~No! Not this man!~ was the immediate, superficial, yet 100% correct conclusion. IMO this man NEEDS to retire, yesterday. How is unprofessional conduct defined? I know how to define rude. I'd drive 100 miles before seeing anyone associated with that practice again. Clear enough?
