Biography

Dr. Gibson graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, He then graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Gibson is licensed by the Texas State Medical Board and completed his rigorous Residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Texas at Houston Medical School where he was elected Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Gibson joined Metro Anesthesia in 2007, and currently serves as the Chief of Anesthesia at Medical City Arlington where he is also the Chief of Staff Elect. He cares for patients at many facilities across DFW including Baylor Surgical Hospital Las Colinas, Medical City Arlington, Medical City Lewisville, and Trinity Park Surgery Center. In addition to being Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Gibson has authored several publications and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, International Society of Research and Anesthesiology, and the Texas Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Gibson specializes in regional anesthesia where he utilizes various nerve block techniques to minimize post operative pain and reduce narcotic utilization for his patients. Because of his expertise with nerve blocks and narcotic sparing techniques, he speaks nationally and holds workshops for doctors, nurses, and other patient caregivers. Dr. Gibson also specializes in obstetrical anesthesia. Dr. Gibson is passionate about his Christian faith, his wife, his three children and working out. He also loves making people laugh which they did when his family was on the Family Feud TV game show. He truly enjoys his work as an anesthesiologist and can’t imagine doing anything else.
