I have left an extensive review on this provider on “YELP”...not to write a book or anything but this was the WORST EXPERIENCE of my LIFE!

Had my knee replaced 2018, January. Horrendous pain and had to fight to get the pain medication s to get me through it. After 3 months my knee still couldn’t get the desired R. O. M. He would always talk to me like I was not following the recommendations for exercises and physical therapy. I went to PT three times a week and exercised at home religiously three times a day. He was infuriating. I had to go in for the knee manipulation under anesthesia. He made high claims of where I would be at. I never made it to those numbers. He finally told me to just get on with my life! He said it’s going to hurt and swell and take up to a year to heal. There’s nothing more I can do for you. Your range of motion is adequate. I can barely tie my shoes! And it’s painful. Do my go to this guy. He’s arrogant and full of himself. And he’s like a bad car salesperson.... he loves you when you come in and when he’s done , he’s done. And when you come back with problems he almost seems angry and really doesn’t want to deal with you. I am very unhappy with my knee.

Dr Coen came very highly recommended by friends and friends of friends who had knee surgery in the Salem Hospital. They rated him the best and total success with his surgeries. I completely agree. My knee is wonderfu. (I have a back up insurance after Medicare)

Very caring, thoughtful & straightforward in understanding my pain issues and in trying to solve those problems from a surgical procedure done by someone else. Very clear in explaining what he thought could & could not be improved.

I appeared at Salem Emergency with a broken ankle, foot, and leg, and Dr. Coen was on call. He wasted no time in getting it repaired. It was a very bad break needing a plate, pins and screws. I found him to be a very efficient, and he knew what he was doing. On follow up visits at his office, he was wonderful. He has much expertise in his field, and I judge him to be a very good doctor. He has a great bedside manner, and he instills trust in the patient. And my breaks healed up nicely, with no other serious problems. I'm glad he was on duty that night.
