I went through six months of the most living and painful experience in my life after the most simple routine low back surgery a person can have at Keck Hospital by Dr. Frank Acosta. I had two partial Laminectomies at L-4 to L5 to relive pressure from disc bulging and spinal stenosis where he cut my spinal cord causing a serious CSF spinal cord leak.
All surgeries have risk ... I know that and I accept that. I have had 13 surgeries in the past (most more complicated) and I have always been happy.
However this time is was not an unforeseeable risk (as with all surgeries) it was classic case book sample of MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE BY DR. ACOSTA. A mistake that should never had been made, especially during a low risk surgery by a high ranking surgeon. All the reviews online in my opinion are false and most be paid for to the publishers.
After many months of seeing multiple surgeons (including flying to Stanford), I ended up in the emergency room at Barrows Institute in Arizona and got emergency surgery the next day. Luckily, I got one of there top surgeons. They were able to fix the CSF with two more open back surgeries and six days in the hospital. Plus an additional full laminectomy at L-3. It was a most living nightmare of my entire life that I wish upon nobody.
This was not a normal risk from a surgeon of his marketed greatness. It was unnecessary and serious medical negligence by Dr. Frank Acosta.
AVOID DR. FRANK ACOSTA AT ALL COST!!! He seems very nice and compassionate at first but after the surgery he becomes the most horrible person and lacking compassion of any doctor I have seen in the world and I have seen a lot.
