Dr Pao is nice, but her office staff is very rude, money-driven, unreasonable, and not responsible. I feel sorry for her because she looses patients like me because of her office staff. This is my second year to see Dr Pao. Since I have an appointment with a specialist at the next day of my appoinment with Dr. Pao, I told her this appointment when Dr. Pao asked me what's going on. She documented it, which charged me $15 extra because it's not "preventive". I didn't mean to bring this issue to Dr Pao and ask for help. I have seen this specialist much longer than her, and she didn't do anything extra. She even didn't feel anything on my breast. $15 is not a big issue, but makes me very uncomfortble. When I called her office and discussed about the billing question, they are so rude, and said that no matter what happened, Dr. Pao documented it so I have to pay the charge. I said that I can pay the bill but I felt uncomfortble and not sure what I should say when Dr Pao ask me questions like this, and it may be my last time to see Dr Pao. They just said "Ok thank you". They don't care about the patients' feeling, they don't care if they will lose patients, they just care about that $15. I'll pay what ever I should pay, and I'd like to discuss with them about my questions, but their attitude made me very angry. I can't find a way to work with them. By the way, they don't mail the detailed blood work result. Bye Dr. Pao. If you don't want to be in the situation like me -- keep silent when you see Dr Pao to aviod suprise charges -- don't go to her office.

Ok, so on a recommendation I took my wife to see Dr. Pao. At first I thought she was a very professional person, but was later proved incorrect. I called to have my wifes second sonogram (16 weeks in), much to my surprise the staff told me Dr. Pao simply "quit" the gynecology side of medicine. I had quite a hearty laugh, why didn't you tell us you were going to quit on the very first visit? I would rather have you be honest with us then, rather than having your staff tell us something you should have done. Guess that's probably why you graduated from San Antonio's college of medicine, what a joke.

I've been going to see Dr. Pao for almost 10 years. She's very positive and cheerful, and is VERY gentle. I've undergone several "exams" by different docs, and she's the best. I love Beatrice, her nurse. Beatrice has always drawn my blood at the office and does a great job, and the practice has an in-house sonographer who is great. The office is across the street from Medical City, so it's free parking! I've only had to wait an extended period of time once when there was an emergency with a pregnant patient. I only have one complaint - sometimes she's very familiar with my chart (I have a lot of medical history), and other times I have to remind her of things. She also speculates about a diagnosis without any test backup. She once told me she thought I had endometriosis, but then said it was PCOS at a later time - it's PCOS. Other than that, I really like her and her office. I've recommended her to friends who have had more serious treatments, and have also been pleased with her.

Dr. Pao is WONDERFUL! She and her staff always seem glad to see me and genuinely care about me as a person, not just a body. She takes time to answer my questions, run appropriate tests without overdoing it, and explain my diagnosis. She doesn't rush through an exam, and she's very gentle. Her demeanor is calm and cheerful. When I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago, she explained why it was necessary, what the other options were, and what I could expect. She was very thorough and spoke to me like a person. She doesn't talk down to her patients. She explained the pathology report in ordinary but not simplistic terms. Happily, it was benign. Her nurse has been with her as long as I've been a patient and is very knowledgeable. Dr. Pao is prompt about returning calls in person. I have referred several friends and coworkers to her and everyone has been pleased with her services. One more plus, ladies: SMALL HANDS! ;)
