For many years Jay Johnson was my trusted cardiologist. Though it was always unpleasant and inconvenient, over the years I mostly made peace with his CHRONIC LATENESS (usually at least an hour, sometimes more). However, our last encounter, or lack thereof, ended the relationship when I left feeling completely disrespected. I arrived on time. There was no one ahead of me. I saw Dr. Johnson and thought ,"Wow! He's going to be on time for the first time ever with me." Wrong. After sitting in the exam room for 45 minutes, his nurse returned to tell me that he had actually left the building to go eat lunch.
She had let him know I was there, so he should be back soon. At the one hour mark, I walked out saying that I felt totally disrespected, and, as a working woman, I also had a schedule to honor. That kind of disregard, disrespect, for a patient is unacceptable.
