I USED TO be a patient of this office. Emphasis on the "USED TO". Office manager and STAFF is very RUDE and extremely unprofessional . Also, I was not satisfied with the dental treatments I received over the years. In fact, in recent months my new dentist has told me that teeth that received various treatments in the past (from A & B Dental) were done poorly.

Omg it is so good to hear that I'm not the only one having problems with this office. Anyone who goes here is out of their minds. I had to report my situation to the attorney general office, They owe me a lot of money and Dr. markowitz and carol are very troubled individuals. You would think customer retention would mean something but they do not care about anyone or anything except making money and even if they have to hurt or steal from people or even break the law to do it. I tried contacting news but never got an answer. I do believe the truth will come out. Carol is extremely difficult to deal with and dr. markowitz refuses to do anything about it. He is almost just as unprofessional as she is.

This is my complaint to the New York Department State Division of Consumer Protection. File No. 20150411-143650. The Dentist did not respond to them after several letters. If they dont respond to the Department of State does this mean they are not a high caliber organization ?

I made an appointment with the above dentist . I told them that I already had x rays for the broken tooth in question. I said that they were emailed to me. I asked if I could email them and they said no. I asked if I printed them are they good. They said sometimes. They said they had no email to send them to. I had this same conversation more than once. They said they were making a “limited appointment” just to look at this tooth.
On the day of the appointment I brought two xrays of the tooth in question and bite xrays from a month before those. They said I had to give them my social security number or they would not see me. When I was called in the girl said that I had to have a whole mouth of xrays. I told her I previously discussed this and was not having a full panel xray and that I brought xrays. I believe in not needlessly repeating xrays because the are not good for you. The dentist then came in and looked at the tooth. He said I needed a crown and he would see if the xrays were acceptable to get a coverage pre approval.
After several minutes a woman came in and said the xrays were insufficient and said that I had to have the full mouth taken. I asked specifically what the problem was. I also said I have the original xrays available on computer. She said things such as :”your giving everybody a hard time” and “I have room full,of patients” and she didnt have time to discuss it. She said I could go to another dentist. I would think that a health professional would sympathize with a patient not getting the same xrays twice
I then asked if I could speak to the dentist again. She went out and came back and said it was “non negotiable”.Apparently the dentist would not discuss it. I dont know if she handles his dirty work. She also said “you were told about having to get the full xrays before you came in”. I told them this was absolutely not the case. She insisted it was because the office manager said so. She apparently was now calling me a liar. Having politely listened to her previous statements I now said that it was the office manager who was the liar. She then said “get out” which I happily did. She refused to give me her name. How would I know that printed xrays from my computer were sometimes good and sometimes not if this was not the discussion. I would have to be very foolish to come in if they told me about having to get all these xrays in advance knowing that I didn't agree to them. -------------------.
I have a temporary filling that can break at any time. The NY medical practice rules forbid a practitioner from abusing, harassing or intimidating a patient. If anyone knows the name of the above individual I think we should let people know it. She had short dark hair and glasses. When the Office did not respond, the Department of State forwarded the matter to the Attorney General, If someone said something that was not true about someone I think that we could be pretty sure that they would respond.

Re, A&B Dental, Andrew Markowitz

Dear Sir/Madam,

The enclosed complaint is being forwarded to you for review and appropriate action.

We have written several letters to the company in an attempt to resolve this matter. Unfortunately to date the company has refused to respond. As the Division of Consumer Protection is set up to
resolve disputes through voluntary settlement, we are unable to take any further action in this matter.

Therefore any assistance you may be ablr to provide would be greatly appreciated.
-------------------------------------
The Attorney General looks for patterns of abuse. If anyone has such experience with this dental office they should report it.

Rate MD has reviews with the office manager called “horrific, nasty, obnoxious, rude” Yahoo has numerous 1 star reviews, the one review on vitals is a single star. They said he should get another dentist when he had a complaint about something. Healthgrades has them listed below average in all eight categories of patient experiences. I think a patient should know what kind of abuse he is in for when he sees a particular dentist. What type of patient would go near this place?

CAROL ..the office manager is the most horrific obnoxious Human being . She was unprofessional and used profanity while on phone and hung up. Because she was proven wrong about facts of appointment times .I will be following up with BBB and will make sure this practice is public knowledge Of the worst Dental practice with the worst office manager again her name is CAROL ...She should not be allowed to deal any type of customer service until she takes anger management courses as well as social skill classes!!

BIGGEST complaint is that the office is very cold tempature wise... it was 37degrees outside this past December appointment and they had the waiting room set for 61 degrees.. with the door opening and closing it was alot colder then that in the waiting room and in the exam and cleaning rooms... I WAS a new patient.... (started with them in December of 2013 and the office was cold then too)..saw them in June of 2014 and had to go back because the filling wasn't put in right and the work had to be redone. Office Manager Carol in my opinion was very nasty to me... both after the first visit and then again today... they called to remind me of my appointment for tomorrow and I told her after my appointment a few weeks ago..(Dec of 2014, for the cleaning and exam, a year after the cold Dec of 2013 appointment), that I needed the office to be a little warmer, that I was on blood thinners and that last time I came home with such a headache from the cold and that I was shivering in the office... she said, "it's been like that for 20 years, it's always cold here, wear layers, wear a hat, wear gloves, if you don't like it find another dentist"..... nasty nasty nasty.....reading the posts here I can see that going back there is out of the question.... in the exam when the dentist came in, I told him that it was so uncomfortable in here because it was so cold in the office.. I told him that I was probably talking to the wall and he looked away and said "no, no, I hear what you're saying" but he NEVER went over to the thermostadt and raised the tempature.... I will NEVER go back there again.. actually Carol the office Mgr told me NOT to come back... so I guess that's that

They still have $8,000 of my money and not give any of it back. They didn't even bill my insurance company and they told me I was denied. How would they know that if they didn't bill them not to mention I have an authorization letter stating my insurance company will pay for almost all the work yet 4 months and still they have my money. And that's not. Typo it's really $8000 dollars that they still have of my money. Doctor markowitz refuses to speak to me and the office manager..... Well let's say my 13 year old son has more professionalism than her. Don't go to A&B Dental/Dr. Markowitz office. They will try to rip u off. They will tell u your insurance company will not pay and then bill u CASH so no proof and then the insurance company will pay them and you don't know this they keep cash and so if Board of Health investigated and looked at charts they would only see insurance company wS billed and they paid and there will be no documentation of the cash so nobody will know unless patients come forward please write on this page what happens to you and leave an e-mail or something so I can get in touch with you. I plan to take this matter further until the truth prevails.
