I loved Dr DeMartini and I also really like Dr Matthews. It's impossible to get through to anyone on the phone. The Patient Portal does not work so I can't schedule appointments that way. I've been out of my meds for six months as I had no insurance and they hold them hostage until I have the money for a visit. Nevermind it's 150/113 on most days. Now I have insurance and I still can't get them on the phone. For good doctors, they have an incompetent staff. Oh, yeah, someone mentioned they shut down for weeks at a time. Yup, they did that too. I really like the doctor but this is really ridiculous and unprofessional.

This doctor is by far the most unprofessional medical person I've met in my long life. The staff is friendly but totally unqualified and can't even perform simple medical tasks such as draw blood. And to top it off, the office was closed WITHOUT NOTICE for 2 weeks on 2 separate occasions in both January AND February with no rescheduling or valid explanation. This doctor should have a BS after his name...

I have been a new patient of Dr Matthews for the past 2 months and while I really like Dr Matthews, I am extremely disappointed that his teams ability to manage the office. On numerous occasions you can never get through without waiting on hold and when you eventually do, you are told that the PA will call you back and it never happens. As a result I am looking for a new physician which is a shame as Dr Matthews is very good. Oh yeah, they don't answer emails and their website is constantly down.

I thank god for Dr.Matthews !I was diagnosed with heart disease at another clinic and the medications i was on dramatically changed my life.I was a happy ,energetic person that was changed to a lethargic, sickly, exhausted person taking b.p.meds,stantin drugs and water pills.I went to Dr.Matthews and his true interest and knowledge of medications changed my quality of life !He changed my medications(less expensive as well)and I became myself again! As he looked over the meds I was on,he blurted out the side effects that these medications are known for and they were indeed what I was feeling!Im so glad Dr.Matthews came into my life and I HIGHLY recommend him!He is a very compassionate doctor who makes you feel like a friend and he listens to you!As I said,He has truly changed my life for the better and I thank God for him everyday that Im not that sickly person I was before I met him.Go to True Medicine in Trophy Club or Flower Mound, its worth the drive!AMAZING Doctor people !

I visited with Dr. Matthews at the recommendation of a family member. I had been hospitalized at a local hospital and was still ill. Dr. Matthews admitted me to Baylor at Trophy Club and he proceeded to care for me as if I was family. I was, and continue to be, amazed at how attuned he is to every situation and how wonderfully astute he is. He diagnosed and treated my illness and continues to take absolutely superb care of not only myself but my husband as well. He is up to date on all of the latest treatments and yet still does not hesitate to send us to a specialist if he feels it necessary. I could not be more pleased with Dr. Matthews and would recommend his kind nature and sharp intellect to anyone seeking a physician who treats the whole person with respect and concern.

After going thru several doctors, I finally found the man who is actually dedicated to helping his patients. He is caring and works all sorts of hours. His smile at 2 a.m. in the hospital gave my mom the courage to continue to fight. He is incredible and I am so glad that his goal in life is to "help people get better." After being cared for by less than doctors, my 89 year old mother is functioning again and is on her way to great health. Thank you Doctor M

It was a true pleasure to have Dr. Matthews as my hospitalist at Baylor Grapevine. I can't say much about their nurses but Dr. Matthews is the kindest and most intelligent man I've ever met. For such a young doctor, he seems to have the wisdom of an entire medical staff/group. He was very well-trained based on how rapidly he diagnosed my condition. I was in and out of the ER 5 times prior to meeting Dr. M. After getting to know him, it was obvious that his training prepared him for anything. The man works 24/7 and smiles the entire time. He is never in a foul mood and if you ask him a question he will explain it to you until he knows you understand. The man literally feels guilty if you are dissatisfied with his care. NOW THAT is what I want in a doctor!!! And that is also why nurses and PAs will never replace doctors. Any hospital that attracts Dr. Matthews should feel very lucky...he could practice anywhere and be successful!!
