I was waiting for my appointment for so long. Then the doctor postponed it and when I came there they told me it was phone appointment but they will see me. After one hour waiting they told me she has two more people there and she will call me. I was waiting all day for my EEG results, reminded them 3times to check they my number….nobody call. And last time even when I went to get my EEG they did it in some ugly old room full of smoke smell:/unfortunately don’t have any good experiences from this doctor office.

My experience at this office is disappointing, to the say the least. The Neurologist, Doctor Yassa, is approaching her elder years, yet she's completely mindless to the concept of punctuality. Doctor Yassa is consistently late for appointments scheduled well in advance.

Worse yet, upon a minimum of two occasions, to my dismay, she never arrived for the appointment. No phone call from her office explaining that it would be necessary to reschedule, just, blatantly absent.

If an individual is suffering from a Neurological Disorder, it's likely that the seriousness of their condition is understood. It's imperative that patients search for a medical professional who takes their commitments seriously. In this case, the facade is the title, "MD" which causes individuals to presume a measure of trust. Generally, it's entirely reasonable to entrust a Doctor to make sound decisions concerning a patients medical care. However, be assured, if you're seeking a competent and trustworthy Physician, you deserve it to yourself to look elsewhere.

I trust Dr Yassa in all her decision . She takes time to explain the reasoning, and never attempts to give medications and push you out the door

I was referred to her because of recurring headaches after a fall. I experienced the same or similar poor care from Dr Nadine H Yassa that has been described by others. Here's a partial list:
Rudeness of the staff, incompetence of the staff, excessive waiting, poor communications, poor follow up, questionable charges, inadequate waiting facilities, ordering of multiple tests, poor patient care and more.
I went back to my primary care physician and asked for another referral. My doctor had heard of these complaints about Nadine Yassa, and told me that he referred me to her because other neurologists in my community had long wait times to be seen on referral. He ordered the MRI scan for me that her office had failed to follow up on. And I was reassured that there was nothing serious apparent.
Eventually I got in to see another neurologist here in Grass Valley. It was like night and day!. Efficient and helpful staff. I was seen within 5 mins of arriving in the office. The neurologist was caring and explained things in terms I could understand. Several of the tests that Dr Yassa had ordered (and performed) were not necessary considering my symptoms. I am so glad that I manged to find a neurologist who cares and has an office and staff that is professional and responsive to patients' needs.
I join with others requesting an investigation of Dr Nadine Yassa and her practice in Roseville.
You can lodge a formal complaint by going to the Medical Board of California website. Here's the link:
http://www.mbc.ca.gov/Consumers/Complaints/
If you agree with me and others who have suffered from the poor medical, professional, ethical and financial performance of Dr Yassa and her office, you too can file a complaint.
I urge you to do so. Let's get this horribly poor service terminated and Dr Yassa banned from practicing bad medicine and her possibly fraudulent abuse of private and government health care insurance systems.
The lowest ratings you can give are one star. As others have commented, I believe that she and her staff do not deserve even a fraction of one star.

RUDE and I left every time wondering what is going on with my health. And i was there for nerve damage. I can not believe that she is a Dr at all much less a Neurologist that deals with other much more personal problems....... And her office personnel are cold and very unhelpful!

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!! I was a patient for almost 5 years here. Every time I came in, I left wanting a new doctor. Sadly, with insurance and all the tests going on, it wasn't going to happen just yet. I never had a good experience with Dr. Yassa. She was never ever on time, usually I waited anywhere from an hour to 2 and half hours just to get into the room to be seen, and then having to wait another 20 to 30 minutes to see her. She doesn't know how to make patients feel comfortable and she gives off a "zero f's" vibe. She made me feel bad about myself more than once and always had a rude tone in her voice. She is NOT a people person, which she should be since she is a doctor. I had an appointment and she said I would be clear to get my license finally, but she didn't have the paperwork for it. So I went to the DMV and got it, came back the following Tuesday and asked if she would sign it off. Her assistant told me I had to make an appointment just to get them signed. I said no I was just here 4 days ago, she said I was clear and I would like them signed today. She said she won't do it and handed them back to me, I gave them back to her and said I am going to leave them here, please have her sign them and I will come back tomorrow or the next day i know she is busy. She went to the back, then came back and said if you want to leave them here for her to sign then you will have to pay $150 dollars. I said I am not doing that, I want her to sign them I am leaving them here. All she said was "she won't sign them" so I grabbed my papers and went to my car. I was so furious, I was surprise I didnt yell at her. I was just going to give up and call to make an appointment so I could get them signed and then I was going to be done with her, when I got a call from my primary doctor saying Yassa called him and told him to find me a new neurologist, I am not allowed back there. After 3 years of working my butt off to get control of my seizures and dealing with her so I could finally get my license at the age of 23, she decides I can't come back. I cant believe this women. She should not be allowed to be a doctor and take care of any human! She is an awful person and the worst doctor I have ever had to deal with. If you are reading this, please run away! You will never have a good experience with her and you should when something is going wrong! Find someone who will actually care about what's going on with your body and not just a doctor that wants your money. That is what she is after. If she staff ever tells you she is running late because she got called to hospital, she is probably just at Starbucks like I've seen one too many times.. lady doesn't even deserve half a star let alone 1. Take everyone's advice before picking this doctor. Wish I would have.

People sit on the floor because there are not enough seats in the waiting room, the wait is usually 2 hrs. I waited two and a half hours for my first appointment only to see the Dr for less than 20 minutes. She billed me for an 80 minute consultation. That was just my first visit. Sadly I continued to go back and now owe thousands of $$$ for tests and costly charges for appointments that were in reality only 15 minutes long. She must be double booking, and charging for lengthy appointments to everyone in that waiting room.

I totally forget to post this but it's late than never.
Just wanted to alert others to our experience with dr. Yassa 's practice. We were there to support our son.

A. The doctor

1s’t visit When we met DR. NADINE YASSA, my first impression is she’s a serious looking doctor , doesn’t have any connection as a patient- doctor relationship. On that first day, she already diagnosed my son having signs of seizure. She prescribed medication and was told not to drive, and ordered 3 lab test. I was thinking good, we want to know right away what’s going on with our son.

After a couple of days from our initial visit we called to ask a question about the medication she had perscribed. Since this is new to us we really don’t know if the symptoms my son is having is normal so I decided to call.. The receptionist told us the only way we can talk to the doctor is to have another 5% of co pay visit, she said the doctor will not talk to us on the phone.

2nd time visit. I brought my husband to talk to the doctor. I guess the doctor is not very happy with another observer. The doctor was unprofessional - Actually stated that the patient and we were "stupid"...Very abrupt, rude and wouldn't listen to our comments...

2. The service
Patient be aware , the exam’s room privacy is not private.
While we waited for the Dr. to come to our room, we could hear word for word the dialogue between Dr. and the patient in the next room...

Was charge two different co pay 1st visit is $40 and 2nd visit is $42 (5%).

Please read below how this service of the staff like. I just wish I read all the comments from this website before I subjected my son to this doctors practices. Makes me wonder when I looked for other neurologis, believe me I called many and had a hard time getting asap appointment but this office was scheduled him right away.
Staff
We are waiting for the MRI call for scheduling, after 3 weeks I called Dr Yassa’s office what was happening. Gretchen , whom I talk to before with the same issue told me she is waiting for the insurance. So I called up the insurance, found out there’s no request from their office. I called the dr’s office back. The same lady told me she remembers trying to send it but did not went through so she stopped sending it that day. She lied to us stating that she had submitted
Then with all her wisdom asked me if I want her to send the request again (again huh). So I asked her, what do you think? Then I proceeded to call the insurance myself asked them if they can call DR YASSA’S CLERK that patient of theirs wants MRI done.

Another staff of theirs named Margarita., just like her boss, she’s not very customer oriented person. I called to ask for a copy of my son’s EEG result to show the result to the new neurologist , she told me it will take a week or so to get a copy and we have to make arrangement to pick it up. After some strenuous time to explaining why I need it right away, I can tell she felt annoyed. Our son signed a release, so we can talk to them directly but Margarita is absolutely doesn’t want to deal with me. The next day she called, (of course she doesn’t want to talk to me) she told my son we can get a copy of EEG lab for $25 fee. A result of a test, which the insurance paid for we will only get a copy for a FEE OF $25.

Now, after my personal experience with Dr. Yassa I decided to read the comments and experiences that other patients had with her. Had our experience been different, I would have been alarmed at the comments I read. But each comment posted had at least one common thread of our personal encounter with this dr. I realized 2 days after our initial appointment that this lady we would NOT give her any more of our time or money. Her business practice is despicable and should not be allowed to see new patients.

I have been taking my son to Yassa for almost 11 years. I am aware that she also works on call at sutter so I do not make appointments in the morning as my son does not wait well. I have had nothing but success with her. I even sought a second opinion with the other Dr who specializes in autism and epilepsy in our area, all he did was slander her and write about autism on a white board like I knew nothing and prescribed even more meds. I went for a second opinion because I was concerned about the amount of meds, not because I had am issue with waiting or rudeness. I found the other Dr to be rude and specifically his wife who ran the office, where as others love that Dr. We have all had different experiences and I see most people unhappy with waiting or billing. My only complaint after all these years is the staff turnover... This lady works around the clock and spreads her self too thin. I do not feel like she is over billing infact she has seen us for free and had us wait for tests untill insurance was fixed. Too the mom with the little who was referred to have an over night eeg/take home. Those are the most effective with kids who can not sit in the office for hours or 20 minutes as they say. We had the most results that way. We had video of seizures and they happen at school but not during the 20 minutes in the office. The alternative is over night at the hospital... I find over night at home better and again. We got a ton of results. It's not easy pleasing everyone and if she had a good staff it would be much better. Things haven't been the same since pam left about 4 years ago. I would recommend Yassa.
