Dr. Improta may have more knowledge that I am unaware of. My son was a patient of his in the CPEP unit at ECMC. Dr. Improta lied to me about our insurance and essentially pushed my son out the door. His actions ultimately led to my son having a lapse in treatment. Dr. Improta also lied in my son’s hospital records, presumably to cover up the lie he told me verbally. When he did this, he led me to the end of a hallway with no one else in earshot; it felt very shady at the time and it was a very vulnerable time for our family. Additionally, Dr. Improta talked freely about my son’s condition within earshot of others in the hallway. Overall, I found his behavior to be both unprofessional and harmful. Lying to a patient’s family and falsifying part of a patient’s hospital records is simply wrong.
