I am so grateful for Dr Campbell and her Nurse Practitioner, Eileen! I will admit that when I was first diagnosed with my breast cancer, I was not used to the idea of seeing a nurse practitioner. I have had to get used to that in all arenas of health care. Having experienced the care from the entire team of NP, MD, Surgeon, tumor board, I can say that I felt as though I was being cradled in the arms of people that were specialized in their own areas of expertise. Often people don't understand all the effort that goes into finding the right treatment for a person's specific cancer and medical history. I am an RN and I do have some understanding of this. Dr. Campbell collaborated with all the necessary members of the health care team to come up with the best treatment and prognosis that was specific to my given situation (cancer type, age, medical history etc). They all worked so well together. When I went to the surgeon or radiologist, they knew what was going oncology-wise from reports received by Dr. Campbell and vice-versa with all the medical team. Even a volunteer came to see me once during one of my appointments. Dr. Campbell spent a lot of time with me during my appointments listening to me cry and talk about how my illness affected my life, my fears, family etc. There is a place in heaven for all these people as far as I am concerned. It is hard work and something that these people don't NEED to be doing to make a living. I will never forget these people and will go back in a second to them if and when my next round with this nasty disease presents itself! Thank you Dr. Campbell and Eileen for putting up with my crying and giving me the medical advice that has gotten me through 13 years so far. I will never forget you!

Dr. Campbell is a brilliant physician. When you are diagnosed with a life threatening illness, that is of upmost importance to me. She is compassionate but I believe she takes her job very seriously. She battles the most horrific and traumatic diseases each day but she meets her patients with a smile. I don't want or need her as a friend, although I think she would be a great one. She is a caring, dedicated physician who is willing to stand by her patients and try every avenue to achieve a positive outcome. I don't see what anyone else could desire from a physician.

I have been seeing Dr. Campbell for five or six years now.She is caring, compassionate as well as straight up with what is going on with you. I asked her to tell me exactly what was what , I did not want to be cuddled when it comes to my health. I have stage four Breast/mets/Bone cancer.She holds nothing back and tells me exactly where I am at this stage and time. She will never lie to you or be mean to you, that has never been my experience. If you are Looking for a Dr. that Loves her patients and takes time with them she is the one for you. Some people want to be told what they want to hear and not what is really happening. She will only tell you the truth. Isn't that what we want her to do. I thank the Lord that I have such a Dr. at this stage of my life.there are some people that cannot be pleased and no can please them. I am sure she gets a few of those as we all do. If you are Looking for a great Dr. Dr. Elizabeth Campbell is The One!!!I rated as I did because it The Truth!!

Dr. C is knowlegeable and intelligent. She is extremely busy and refers her assistant, Eileen, for most appts. Eileen has given my physician wrong info and has also given me wrong info during an office visit. The office is immensely disorganized from phone calls not being returned on a regular basis to office not scheduling tests as directed to. Dr. C will not speak to you on phone-everything relayed back back by nurses on message you leave on nurse line. Also, it seems Dr. C wants to schedule office visits more than necessary even when in remission despite ACS follow-up recommendations.

Dr. Campbell has taken care of my husband when he had colon cancer and he is still doing fine... that was in 2000. I have non-Hodgkins lymphoma and she takes care of me now. I had another oncology doctor who saved my life in 1998 and cared for me until I didn't have insurance anymore. I changed to Dr. Campbell and from day 1 she has really cared. She shows it in her quiet voice and smile. Her PA is wonderful, also. So are the nurses. I have to say in all honesty that there is one lady at the reception/check-in desk who is never very friendly and it is possible that this is just the way she normally is. Dr. Campbell is the best.

She went the extra mile for me in rechecking my diagnosis. On the day I was to have my first chemo, she told me I was not going to need it afterall. This after requesting extra, and further lab testing on my "specimen". I only wish I were still in her area so I could continue to work with her, should anything else develop.

I'm supposed to have Dr. Campbell -- Saw her a few times in the beginning when she was diagnosing me, and then didn't see her for a year and a half when I complained. She then saw me once and was very nasty to me, throwing files around etc. Not a nice person. Now I haven't seen her for over a year again. I see her nurse, who is wonderful, but you should be able to see your doctor more often than that. I have chemo once a month, and all other doctors are in there now and then, never see Campbell. I have stage 4 bone cancer, so feel she should give me a little time after a year. Not a nice person and not interested in her patients.

Bedside manner is important, however, I do not see where that is a rating qualification on this site. It could possibly be taken out on the "helpful" rating, but in my experience Dr. Campbell has been very helpful. My cancer is in remission. If that doesn't make her helpful I don't know what helpful is! You should know that you won't find Dr. Campbell warm and fuzzy. She does care, but it's just not in her personality to spend a lot of time crying with you. She wants to get down to buissness and solve the problem. All I could ask for in a doctor who is treating me for a potentially fatal illness. A++

Frankly, Dr. Campbell is not a good physician. She understands the science, but it takes more than that to be a good doctor. Too many physicians enter medicine because they love science or want to make a good salary and completely forget that you have to deal with people as well. As a public health professional with advanced training in that field, I have a deep understanding that patient-centered medicine is what truly makes a difference in people's lives. Dr. Campbell missed that portion of her training. I won't even go into the false diagonosis she gave me (which honestly could have been avoided). On top of that, her office is disorganized, bad about returning phone calls, and careless. It does not surprise me in the least that Dr. Campbell split from the hem/onc offices of Rex, in part, due to differences in philosophies about treating patients. However, it's too bad she didn't stay with them. She could learn a few things from those who remained in that practice.

I see Dr. Campbell because of her expertise in the field of oncology, not her bedside manner. I will continue to keep going because she treated my cancer and put it in remission. She did not sugar coat anything, just stated the facts. Most of the time I see her PA anyway who has a great bedside manner and gets the job done as it should be done. I have no complaints with the staff. They are wonderful. Dr. Campbell told me that my cancer will likely come back, but today I'm alive and kicking and that's all I can ask for.
