I have been seeing Dr. Shaum for 3 years. She is, without a doubt, one of the most compassionate and dedicated doctor's working today. She always takes her time in the room to comprehensively review your health and really listens. She answers all questions slowly & throughly. You feel like a human not a #. Phone calls are returned within 24 hours and often long after the office is closed which is unheard of and so appreciated. I am still amazed by her extended availability. She is also extremely pleasant and very personable. Her assistant, Gloria is also amazing. One of the most effective front office staff with whom I have ever dealt. She is easy to contact via phone or email and always responds within 24 hours but typically sooner. This is an outstanding duo to have on your team. The best!

Burnt out, angry assistant, impossible to reach the Dr. by phone or to get a return call, inept on-call Drs., no fighting insurance companies for crucial tests, no idea what to do if chemo is too hard for you and, worst of all, this Dr. left me a voicemail message telling me how it was my fault my cancer returned! AVOID AT ALL COST. You can find kindness, promptness, nurses to talk to and creativity in treatment if need be. MUCH better: Philomena McAndrew at Cedars. Night and Day. The treatment here was absolutely horrific.

Dr. Shaum is wonderful. She is patient, caring, humane, and takes the time to answer all my questions, explaining things in great detail. She is one of the best doctors I've ever seen.
