Dismissive, arrogant, and insulting. Visit was rushed and he was not interested in answering any questions

He repeatedly failed my mom. He operated on her 4 times and could not get it right. Horrible bedside manner. When the rod broke in her knee, he told her repeatedly that it wasn’t broken and it was all in her head! He told her to see a psychiatrist! That is when I had enough and called the top surgeon in Boston. She had a successful surgery today and her rod was replaced. Surprise, it WAS broken all along. He is a complete failure and couldn’t own up to it!

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I went in for a consult for a knee replacement. I had a MRI disc with me from 2 years ago (from another specialist that recommended a knee replacement). His assistant had forgotten to schedule a x-ray, so I had to go get that which ended in a 1/2 hour wait. I went back up to his office. He never looked at the MRI, just compared a x-ray I had 10 years ago with the one that day. He said that I had bone spurs, but I needed to go to PT to build up my quad muscles. He spend about 4 minutes with me and my husband and left. We were horrified. My advise, do not go to him. He is arrogant and uncaring.

I couldn't be more pleased woth my anterior left hip replacement. Dr Specht is very skilled at what he does.My experience with him and his team was exceptional from my first visit to my post-op visits. I highly recommend Lahey and Dr. Specht for your orthopedic needs.

The BEST doctor ever ! Dr. Specht is an amazing surgeon; I had two total knee replacements and am convinced that nothing could have made the total experience any better. My quality of life is so much better and its all because of Dr. Specht, his skill and wonderful staff. Lahey Burlington Hospital is one of the best hospitals with excellent patient care. I have recommended Dr. Specht and Lahey Burlington Hospital many times. Additionally, Dr. Specht's Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Torres, is highly skilled and has a wonderful rapport with patients.
