After having seen Dr Kahler over the last several years, I have nothing to say but WOW! This guy is top notch as well as his staff. My mouth has never been in better shape. I have had my father in for treatment as well (perio issues, root canals, crowns). Not having insurance we were concerned about being able to afford the work. Dr Kahler made sure that we given a great price and were put on a payment plan through one of the credit companies they work with. I couldn’t believe how affordable it was including a very low interest rate.
Not sure what all the negative reviews are about and can only guess that these folks have some ‘issues’ that they never dealt with from childhood.
Oh well, that’s all I have to say! He’s the best!

I was referred to Dr.Kahler by some very close friends. Others had mentioned he had been pricey but worth it, on and on about his great staff. However one of those friends all of the sudden needed some work done, root canals and crowns. Months later at work my friend is grabbing his face and head almost screaming in pain. This continued to plague him throughout the year. I figured it was just part of it. I had never had a root canal, and two cavities ever.
During that time I myself started seeing Dt.Kahler from 2012-2013. I went in with two teeth that needed work, one an extraction another to drill and fill. My previous dentist had let me know I'd need to. I was paying cash for all my appointments, as a single parent at the time in my 20s it was tough- but these are my teeth were talking about.
After my comprehensive visit and the extraction, I was due to come back in. During my comprehensive visit he scrapped, not scaled and pitted my teeth, cracked several of them, left fragments of tooth from the extraction.
He did yet another set of xrays and set up a meeting with me. Told me I needed higher amounts of fluoride to use phos-four, a cream he prescribed another mouth rinse he suggested and high fluoride tp. ($300)
He brought me in and explained that almost all my teeth would now need work BC they were falling apart. (Since he messed with them a couple had lost pieces of enamel)
He then hands me a folder, inside the folder pages of what I "need" done. The cost $30,000. And he wanted 10k the first three months, then the next set of work over the 3-6 month period, another 10k, and lastly the 6-9month period another 10k.
I had had all of two cavities EVER. Took great care of my mouth. After the scrapping and pitting the fluoride really did its job of fluorosis.
When I told him I couldn't afford the 30k, or that quickly he got very very angry. Yelling at me about how important it was and that my teeth were starting to fall apart. I told him id see what I could do.
I saw him two weeks later, my teeth were beginning to crumble but the pain from the tooth fragments left was like cutting new teeth again, I wanted it corrected.
Without xrays or looking in my mouth he tells me there are no fragments left, he doesn't mess up. Then starts tearing into me, in my face telling me to admit to my meth habit, prior or now BC my teeth wouldn't just fall apart unless I was doing that. I began to cry, and pleaded with him to take a hair follicle test going back my entire life if he'd like, that I NEVER HAVE USED, AND NEVER WILL.
He left the room. One of his staff came in and told me to schedule for two weeks out. I reluctantly did. But a week later was sent a letter letting me know I had been fired as a patient from his practice. When I asked why it was because I wouldn't admit to my drug habit, and I wasn't getting the work done quick enough.
His yelp review is 1 1/2 stars. Several other sites only star rate by yrs in practice, licensing and so on. Others let the Dr delete reviews, so pay attention. Between 2013 until a couple weeks ago maybe 2 good reviews over several sites. Suddenly about 2wks to a month ago good reviews like crazy- hmm I wonder why.
He never was like this prev according to those I know that saw him prior to me. They said about the time I came in he was suddenly finding work to do in their mouths and guess what his kids were now going to college.
Tomorrow at age 30 I have to have all my teeth removed and get dentures. My friend who saw him the same time I did will have to do the sane as he destroyed his teeth too. Because of our teeth, multiple infections, depression I can't smile or speak publicly so I had to stop working as well.

Love this Dentist! Like many, I've had terrible experiences within the Dental world. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable, secure and was okay. During my root canal he was sure to give me breaks, and actually felt bad when he caused a small amount of discomfort when giving me the Novocaine. In all honesty BEST Novocaine shots I've ever received. Barely felt a thing. Staff and Dr. Kahler are amazing. Couldn't recommend them enough.

By far the worst dentist to see in Paso Robles. Words cannot describe the horrible treatment performed by this dentist. I literally had everything re-done elsewhere and cannot find anyone in town that thinks his dentistry is up to par. Do not see this dentist.
