My wife and I are both retired physicians living in Boca Raton, FL. I was concerned about a significant
recent weight loss and some ambiguous findings on imaging studies. Our gastroenterologist, Dr. Morris Naus, recommended Dr. Stephen Steinberg as an expert in minimally invasive ultrasound GI endoscopy. This procedure was performed at Baptist Hospital (Boca Regional). I found Dr. Steinberg to be extremely competent, caring and personable. Lori, the office coordinator arranged for 2 procedures to be done during the same anesthesia. Both doctors spent time reviewing my history and imaging studies and performed their procedures flawlessly. As a physician, often wary of sub optimal medical practices, I can report a very excellent experience with both Drs. Naus and Steinberg.

Factory doctor. No people skills. He told us endoscopy procedure would take 20 mins. We were at the hospital for 7 hours. He doesn't even talk to or acknowledge his patients or waiting family members before or after endoscopy procedure. His office staff is horrible. His hospital department staff even worse. Hospital Patient Experience department is a joke. I recommend you look for someone else if you want "care'.

I would never let thos doctor near me again. He won't answer questions, no one checks on you after procedures and doesn't return phone calls after a procedure even when a patient is having issues after a procedure. I ha be e to find a other doctor to even find out what he did during procedure. He doesn't check on you at hospital and rudely walks away when you ask a question. I went to have stent removed he put in during first procedure and when I went to the hospital for removal all he said was it wasn't there. And would not answer what happened to it or what he did do. I expect the same respect from the doctor that I give him and questions on my health should not be ignored. I call the day after and did not receive a call back for 3 weeks and the patient assistant that called said she would get answers and call me back. As month later I still have not be heard back from them. I expect more professional behavior from a doctor and his office

We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Steinberg and his staff for high professionalism and care. We found his communication manner a bit dry, but with a good sense of warmth and humor. The procedure he did was performed excellently. Also, very special thank you to his coordinator Lori. She was efficient, quick to respond, sympathetic to a tense situation. We extend Dr. Steinberg and his staff our best wishes. Lucy k.

He came highly recommended (by a doctor we respect), so I assume he is a good clinician, BUT....after waiting 7 weeks for an appointment for an EMR, the doctor's prescribed prep failed BOTH my wife and I. His primary hospital is in-network for very few insurance providers, so scheduling forced a complete change in our year's travel plans. At our post-op consult, he made it very clear that he: 1) wasn't responsible for fixing the health insurance problems in America, 2) our social schedule was not his problem, 3) he had no interest in making this (failure) right, and 4) even refused to accept responsibility for the prep procedure, attempting to blame the referring physician for choosing the prep (a flat out lie). Having done 7 previous preps, I found that the prep HE REQUIRED was different from the other SUCCESSFUL preps in 3 different aspects. The really upsetting part, however, was his apathy toward anything that wasn't his clinical procedure, and his quick willingness to flat out LIE to us in an attempt to avoid any responsibility.

At 50 I had my colonoscopy. A polyp was found that was too big/difficult to take out. Surgery was recommended. The surgeon suggested I see Dr. Steinberg- the doctor all the GI doctors send their difficult cases to - he was right; Dr. Steinberg removed the polyp and saved me from surgery. THANK kYOU!!

After Dr S saved me from a difficult surgery (esophagectomy) I wanted to tell my experience and noticed the previous review. I also had a serious esophagus problem (cancer). I had several visits and procedures. He cared about me and answered my questions- drew on a diagram. He never left the room without asking me and my husband two or three times if we had more questions. I also asked about getting another opinion from the Cleveland clinic- he said that was fine- he knew the doctors there since he had worked with and helped one of them. Thanks to him I had an outpatient scope and I am a cancer survivor. I don't get why someone would leave a doctor and then blame him for not getting the care he could have given them. It's too bad. I had a really good experience and didn't need major surgery
