By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor and their staff. After coming here under an emergency through zodoc appointment they made me feel terribly uncomfortable. All I wanted was to make an appointment to get new glasses after I saw them for a routine check up. I paid up from for a glasses fitting and follow up. When confirming the appointment they said it was for eye contacts only. I didn’t want a fitting for my eye contacts. So I switched to another doctor. My new doctor said he wanted my eye contact prescription. When calling Dr. Bold’s I was met with pure hostility, rage and unprofessionalism. They insisted they couldn’t give me my prescription due to a “30 day expiration” I asked for an exception, my current doctor knows they’re lying, and can give me the follow up appointment to confirm my new prescription, I even informed the woman on the phone what I knew. Even if hypothetically I was totally in the wrong there was no reason for her to scream, laugh, and call me honey over and over. She would cut me off mid sentence and say “ok what’s the point of you really calling honey” in a condescending tone and refused to let me on the phone with Dr. Michael. I personally feel embarrassed for the lack compassion in this office. Eye care is such a priority, and I was met with no understanding or even pretending to care.
Please avoid this office at all cost

My son and I have been to this doctor twice. Awful. The first time took over three hours, after a long work and school day. He kept leaving us to see other patients over and over. I gave him another shot a few years later and same thing. He also did not listen to my issues, and he uses the old creepy 1800-looking measuring things and not digital instruments like the rest of the world. He’s also very creepy and has an odd affect. Avoid

THEY PRICE GOUGE. This means they charge double the price for appointments and glasses that other optometrists charge. After my last, useless appointment, I was told by the doctor IN FRONT OF THE FRONT DESK LADY that they would order my contacts and it would be ready for pick-up in a month. Guess what? I did not get any call from them or even any updates for a whole 2 months! No call apologizing for the delay. So I, their client, called them first. No answer for a whole week. I called their Newport office and someone said that they would leave a message. Waited another week. Finally, the following week they picked up and told me that they had not even ordered my lenses yet! They did not even apologize for not being organized and forgetting to order my lenses and just told me that they would order them asap and have them ready in another week. I picked them up, after 2 months of an agonizing wait. Even when I went to the office, no one apologized and they just handed over the contacts. This is important everyone. I had already paid for the contacts two months prior. What the HECK.

Dr. Bold is one of the few professionals who will allow plenty of time to discuss your situation in details, give you options and reccomand the best for your eyes. Besides being clear on your diagnosis and solutions, he is comforting and calm even when a diagnosis is not too good
