Dr. Boruff was an ok doctor until my mother called his office- concerned about my health. She was a Clinical Psychological Psychologist for @ 30 yrs and was always known as "Dr. (Last name). " She left a message with his receptionist - asking him to please call her back. He assumed that "Dr." Meant a MD had called him, so he returned her call. When he found out that she is a PhD doctor- he became hysterical. My next appt with him- he was cold & said to me: "Your mother is a FRAUD! And she made me look like a fool. (For returning her call...) He then said: "I will not be your doctor anymore." I did not reply- I was stunned. How ARROGANT can an MD be? My mom has Every Legal Right - given to her by the TN State Licensing Board, to use the title of DOCTOR - as the PhD is a DOCTORATE degree. Even worse, after that- I broke my back. I was admitted to the same hospital where he "practiced," I broke my back-had major surgery & he refused to sign my discharge papers. He sent a partner to sign.

I started going to Dr. Boruff probably about 15 years ago when I was around 10. He was always awesome, knowledgeable, and helpful. Even when I went years without seeing him, he still remembered me and my family and cared enough to ask about them. My brother has an uncommon blood disorder and Dr. Boruff was one of the few doctors in the area who knew anything about it. Overall, fantastic doctor!!

Very impressed with physician's demeanor, interest, thoroughness and expertise. 5 physician practice with 4 board-certified NPs on staff. Lab and xray on premises. Staff was able to schedule outside testing rapidly. Excellent turn-around time on labs with remote message system by physician within 24 hours of blood draw. Good listener, approachable and obviously "in demand" as it took almost 6 mo wait to be seen as a new patient. Eager to answer questions regarding office protocols, hospitalizations etc. Being retired from medical profession myself, I am acutely aware that finding an excellent physician can be difficult.

I was refered to Dr. Boruff after going to specialists for everything. I called, they said they were taking new patients...which is rare these days, so I made an appointment. The office staff has been very friendly, if not overworked and/or understaffed. I liked Dr. Boruff from the minute he walked into the exam room. He is very friendly, courteous and concerned about the patient. He told me, that as a new patient, he was going to take the time to get to know me, and then run what tests he felt were needed. I strongly feel that he knows what he is doing and will have my best interest at heart all the time. He put me on a low-glycemic diet, and in 2 weeks, I lost 12 pounds. Now, I am down 28 pounds, in just over two months! I am a private pay patient, without insurance, because I can't get insurance due to pre-existing high blood pressure and trigeminal meuralgia. The office is kind enough to extend a discount to those in my situation. I look forward to many years with him as my Doctor

Simply the BEST!! After moving to Tennessee 10+ years ago, I had to find a doctor and I had almost given up HOPE...until I found Dr. Jeff Boruff. He is thorough, he is knowledgeable, he is very "in tune" with the latest diagnosis, medications, etcs. He listens to you and takes his time - treats you like a working partner in your healthcare. His nurses are kind, his nurse practitioners are great as well. His office staff is even friendly! I am just amazed and hope Dr. Boruff is in Knoxville for a long, long time!

Dr. Boruff is the best md I have ever had. (And I've been to quite a few when I moved around for a time)He is very intelligent, friendly, and makes you feel as if you have control over your health care choices. I feel confident putting my life in his hands. He has referred me to specialists before, so I've never had a problem in that area either. If I had to put a complaint, his office staff lacks friendliness at times, but all of his nurses and NP's are great.

I have mixed feeling about Dr. Boruff. On the one hand I've always liked him on a personal level and he's been quick to fix me up with all minor illnesses. On the other, I have an ongoing problem with my stomach that hasn't been resolved in over a year and am losing hope/faith that I'll get better. He has said that he doesn't recommend a specialist because he can prescribe the same medicines. I feel like he has not dug deep enough and that he isn't really listening to me. I am seeking out a specialist now without his help.

Dr. Boruff is a real gem. He puts forth so much more effort than many other doctors. He really listens and works hard to find the right diagnosis. He also has good intuitive skills. He once asked me about my "depression," when I had not mentioned anything about it and was not even really aware that I was depressed. But he noticed it, almost as soon as he entered the room. Imasgine that. Knoxville is lucky to have Dr. Boruff.
