I have been a patient of Dr. Black for 4 years. Prior to his service I had serious sinus problems. Dr. Black was able to treat me without surgery, and I've had less problems during pollen season. I highly recommend him. The staff is friendly and very professional. Thanks Dr. Black for allowing me to BREATH again.

Charged for a service without being told about it . I was waiting on Dr Black and was joking with the nurse about how my wife said I cant hear any more. Very nicely, she offered to check it. Long story really short, that cost me $86 above my co payment. If I would have know this was going to be charged to me, in no way would I have offered to have this completed. You can have hearing test completed for free most anywhere. I contacted the office of Dr Black and he refused to adjust the bill. Its really sad that some Docters have to run scams like this..

After my first surgeon abandoned me in intensive care, they called Dr. Black who came in on a Sunday and removed a tube from my throat so I could be discharged. Thank you Dr. Black!

Just had my Sinuses surgically scraped out and cleaned, not sure of the term for the procedure, but it was surgery, IVs, anesthetics, a breathing tubes, bloody bandages, the whole 9 yards. Dr Black did an almost immaculate job on the surgery judging off my recovery versus the majority of those I've read from others that have undergone the same procedure. However, that's exactly where my satisfaction ends. My procedure was scheduled for 7am on friday, and I dont think I was even taken into my room to undress until 9:30, and said they would be in soon with something to calm my nerves. 10:30 rolls around and the nurse starts wheel me out of the room, so I ask what about the medication? turns out even though they called it in no one remembered to do it, so we had to wait for that. Then the surgery happened, which as I said to my knowledge went perfectly. I was prescribed 10 5ml hydrocodones to take once every 6 hours. I'm no doctor, but I can deduce that 10x6 is 60 hours worth of medication. That wasn't even going to see me through the weekend at that rate, and I had to take 2 at a time to notice any pain reduction. "No worries" I think, surely I can just call in, explain and get more. Nope, Turns out his office has a policy where they don't prescribe pain meds on the weekend, even though they aim to schedule surgeries on fridays. He tells me over the phone "just alternate Tylenol and alieve, you'll be surprised how much it helps." Seems to me if those were adequate for the situation that's all I would have been perscribed initially. So I've been without pain medication for about a day and a half, and am very much aware that Ive had part of my sinuses carved out of my head. Today is monday, I called them at 11:45, was told to leave a voicemail, heard back an hour later and was told i needed to leave a voice mail with someone else instead, and did so around 12:45. Heard back after 2pm and all I got out of it was "We"ll talk to Dr. Black and see if he will give you more." Are you kidding me? Everyone including Dr. Black and his nurses I've spoken to has acknowledged that taking one 5mil pill isn't effective, that you have to take two to even notice any pain reduction. that translates to 30 hours of medication beginning the second I was wheeled out of the hospital on friday around 1:pm, so enough to last give or take until Saturday afternoon knowing full well they wouldnt be able to get me any more until monday. Seems pretty willfully negligent to me which entirely contradicts the way I perceived him up until surgery. I had a massive sinus infection when this all happened, enough for them to look at the x-ray and decide I needed surgery 3 days from then. I asked him for some cough syrup and he prescribed me half the lowest dosage that is recommended for a 12 year old child. I'm 22 years old, and barring these sinus issues perfectly healthy, I'll let the readers put together how effective HALF of the lowest dosage you would give a 12 year old is working.

After the removal of a head tumor, Dr. Black did the reconstructive surgery to adjust my scalp and cover the exposed wound. All of my friend and relatives have commented on how great it looks. I highly recommend him and his staff.

In March 2011 Sheldon & a surgeon friend of his cut my throat, & made a mess; 2 mos later I still was having difficulty swallowing. I picked the surgeon for the 2nd surgery, & 2 wks after he cut my throat was better then I was two months after Sheldon & his friends were done. I can't believe the difference. Sheldon didn't even bother to show up for my 2nd surgery, called 2-3 weeks afterwards & apologized, claimed he was out of town, but I had already been told that he said no one advised him of the 2nd surgeon, but I did as did the surgeon's office. I don't trust many people & Sheldon has been added to that list of people. I will never use the word DR when talking about him; and I will NEVER recommend him to anyone for any type of medical work/advise. If he did such a good job why hasn't he filed a claim with BCBS? The surgeon that did the job right has already been paid.
