My. husband was a patient of Dr zakari. He had stage four colon cancer. He said he was doing well and there were several treatments that could be given. On July 7,2022 he was admitted into the hospital. The doctor never paid him a visit. On July 20th they suggested he should be in hospice. Once there, no meds, no food, no fluids. They filled him with pain medication every four hours. He passed away on July 24th, 2022. I feel hospice and the doctors caused his death. He could have been saved if they restarted treatments. Too late now, he passed away.

Hi Dr. Zakari, My name is ******. My mother is Kathleen ***** DOB ******. She is in Florida Hosp Orlando since Tuesday night. I'm upset with the care she received from you on Tuesday 2/19. I called the office at about 12pm concerned about her status (which I have never done). I told Angela that her VS were 178/80, 52, 14-16, 96% and she was experiencing the following symptoms: Cant find her words, Poor Coordination, Very unsteady, Tremors are much worse, Lethargic and Forgetful (more so since she started Stivarga on 2/14/19). As per Angela, you said to just take a lisinopril and continue Stivarga (all of the above were side effects of the medication). I even said to Angela that I feel like maybe her liver wasn't breaking down the Stivarga appropriately. She just stood by what you said and told me your reasoning. You felt that she was like this because of the high BP and low HR. The lisinopril will help her...
We trusted you. I monitored her BP all day (SBP was btwn 150-160). When I took her to the hosp at about 9pm her BP was 217/93, her ammonia level was high and she had a UTI. Thankfully, I doubted you. She probably would have had a stroke if I trusted you. I get the impression from you that you are more a businessman than a caring doctor. If I found myself practicing with no compassion I would consider retiring. Although most of your patients are probably terminal they require most of the compassion. If you would have just stopped for a minute to think about her situation and history of liver resection, I'm sure you would have suspected an elevated ammonia level or infection.

worse dr ever, he treated my sister with AML inhuman. And his wanna be dr Candice is some kind of jerk. If it werent for my other sister and me going to hospital and rasing heck with the nurses and threathing them, we would have never got my sister help. This clown requested a path report from another hospital, where all you have to do is call hospital and have it faxed, well it was a week and dr still never got report, me a lay person on a sat, called the hospital that we needed report from and i got it in a dam hour!! are you kidding me. It was one debockel after the next . and my brother law spent every night in hospital with my sister, and with him there, it was still a mess. He lied to our family about getting my sister on a study, lied over and over. He should have his license taking away from him.Arrogent and didnt like i stood up to him or the clown ENT he sent to see my sister. That was another story. Think about this , you are in hospital and you are thinking of calling 911!! are you kidding me ! horrible , horrible dr and staff.

Worse doctor ever. When my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer we had asked him to pass by her room so we can ask questions about her pet scan and he was to busy on trying to hit on 2 visiting blonde hair nurses. He said he would pass by when he was done. We finally saw him sneak out and when we asked the nurse where was he, his excuse was that Dr. Carlos Alemany who worked beneath him was her doctor and that he was not familiar with the case. He could not even pass by the room and tell us this. We had to have the nurse call him and asked why he left without coming by the room. These are the worse doctors in cancer. Do not take any love ones to these two doctors as they do not care about their patients.

Dr. Zakari took time to listen and he also took time to explain. He was very thorugh and considerderd how my medical condition affected other areas of my life. At the time the office did not accept HMO Insurance including the HMO PPO/POS this made it very difficult, expensive, and limitited what the Doctor was able to do. It is to my understanding that the "no HMO" policy has since changed. I hope that is true.

Dr. Zakari is an amazing doctor. He has a caring heart for his patients and will do everything in his power to help his patients. When I had to go to the ER Dr. Zakari called me personally to see what was wrong. His bedside manner is wonderful. He has helped get me through some major challenges with the chemo, side effects, family issues that arose when treating the cancer. He has taught me that cancer dosn't have to control my life and I can still have fun. Dr. Zakari is a man of compassion and empathy. I have been on both sides of the spectrum being both a patient and a healthcare professional there is nothing bad you could say about him. He is extremely intelligent and keeps up date with latest articles and reports. He works long hours and because he is such a great doctor he has many patients. His office staff is friendly and dedicated. Dr. Zakari comes highly recommended from patients and healthcare workers.

To make this review fair, lets cover some pros. Zakari is well schooled, compassionate and comes well recommended by some peers. His demeanor is friendly, and has a wonderful nurse (Claire) who manages much more than a person should have to handle. On to the more concerning side: Summarily, this oncologist has his priorities bungled. His clinic is always overbooked, and understaffed. Patients will discover that this man is almost never punctual or available to have an unrushed conversation. He does have trouble speaking lucidly (perhaps because of his Eygptian-Arab accent), and in the english speaking medium can often miss the concerns of medicated patients. He is out of town more than he is in town. And when the stakes are high, he will absolutely choose whatever is necessary to preserve the sanctity of his license and practice over possible palliatives, cures available in the forefront of the medical profession. Bottom Line: In a life-death situation, choose someone else.
