Dr. Cotler was originally my sons therapist , he then turned into family mediator . Unfortunately I was not aware that a doctor should not change roles while treating . From there things went from bad to worse. Dr. cotter failed to recognize the abuse that was occurring in the family ...I don't know how , it was obvious to everyone . His course of treatment was not only ineffective but detrimental to both children in the long run. Had Dr. Cotter diagnosed and treated the situation correctly he could have saved the children from further abuse. A doc with his credentials could have saved 2 children, but his inability to see what was really happening in the family dynamics coupled with his role change of therapist for my son to family mediator left his patient in a terrible position to trust therapists in future. He also failed to provide a family in need of the proper assistance in dealing with a personality disordered parent for years to come. Both children are failing in the life

Dr. Cotler has helped my now 13 year old son to get through depression, to be happier in school, to gain some self-confidence, to feel he has someone to go to besides family members. He keeps in contact with our school and talks with me, his mom, to keep me updated on what is happening. He is very caring, truly helps, is there for you, is worth every penny. We love him!
