Only dentist I have ever had who I feel genuinely cares - not just about my teeth - but about ME. He once spent an extra 15 minutes with me - after the official appointment ended - because he knew I was depressed over the recent death of my significant other. I have ALWAYS left his office - no matter what happened while I was there - feeling better than I did when I arrived. (Never thought I would ever say that about a dentist! Especially one who went to UNC! ) Do yourself a favor. Go to see him.
