Biography

Dr. Anthony Mikulec evaluates patients with hearing loss and balance disorders, performing procedures that include cochlear implants, stapes surgery for otosclerosis, osseointegrated implants, and examination for hearing aids. Some procedures allow patients to return to their routines the day after surgery. Dr. Mikulec also uses innovative technologies, such as the Epley Omniax device for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, a treatment available at a small number of centers nationwide. His research interests include cochlear implantation outcomes and inner ear drug delivery.Dr. Mikulec is a professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Division of Otology and Neurotology, at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He is chief of Otologic and Neurotologic Surgery and Director of Faculty at the Bander Canter for Medical Business Ethics.Memberships include the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles and taught surgical courses internationally.
