I used to use Dr. McKenzie, but have recently moved on. I got so tired of his office staff never calling me back, and when I could get a hold of them, they'd have to "check with the doctor and call me back" - which never happened. I had two separate instances where I was sick, saw the doctor, and then days later was still not better. I tried both times to come back in to see Dr. McKenzie, but was told that I didn't need to do that, and that he'd just prescribe a different type of medication. I ended up at an urgent care clinic both times because my "primary care physician" refused to see me for a follow-up. Ridiculous!

if you call and leave a message they will not call you back. It is not uncommon to have to call 3 or 4 times before you get a return call. He has quite a turn over in staff when you call you are mostly prompted to hold and quite often placed on old without ever given the opportunity say no. The patient portal is not monitored and the staff admitted they had not been trained on the program so they did not bother checking it.

Upon moving back to Little Rock, I was needing a doctor and five friends were totally confident we was who I needed to go see. I was uncomfortable, anxious, and nervous to talk to a doctor about my issues. I have never been so pleasantly surprised. His office is instantly relaxing. Incredible waiting waiting room, perfect lighting, and coffee station. The receptionist. His nurse Shannon took me back to the room and totally related to my fears which made me feel so much more relaxed while I was waiting to meet Dr. Mckenzie. Yes, he looked young and good looking, however, he was so professional, knowledgeable, and willing to work with me that he established an instant rapport. I realized that consuming medical care was not being told by the doctor what you have to do but a conversation about what my options are. He has confirmed my impressions for more than a year and I hope he never leaves Little Rock.We are fortunate to have him as an amazing local family physician!!!!
