I would not recommend Dr Ru
She is racially biased and it obviously affects her decisions on providing care to her cancer patients. She expressed her firm stand AGAINST Black lives matter,stating that gang violence kills more blacks than the police so black people shouldn't complain. ( apparently all blacks are gang members to her). I have never felt more letdown and hurt during an already painful struggle for my life. I changed oncogists IMMEDIATELY. Terrible thing to say to someone obviously black ,afraid,and in your care. She also takes offense to questions regarding your care. Apparently you shouldn't question HER decisions regarding your LIVELYHOOD. I'd give her negative stars if I could. "SHAME ON YOU Dr.Rue. your patients deserve better."

I would not recommend Dr.Ru who did not monitor patient properly. She did NOT order any PET/CT scan for patient who was diagnosed with stage 3B colon cancer, finished preventive chemo therapy for 6 months with her treatment, then followed up with Dr.Ru every 3-6months for 4.5years. If anyone can come up with reason that there should no PET/CT scan ordered for 4.5years for stage 3 cancer, you can consider getting treatment from Dr. Ru.
The only thing monitored was CEA level and blood labs on every follow-up. Then, 4.5yrs later after so many f/u done by her, when patient had vaginal discharge, Dr.Ru finally ordered PET scan. The result was metastasis to female organs, and surgeon in torrance memorial hospital could not remove it. it was just open & close surgery with lots of biopsies done. Then when we met dr. Ru again, she just said "sorry to what happened to you" , but no admit, no sorry to what she had missed (no PET/CT scan ordered for her patient until tumor was growing enormously). if you want to treat your cancer, please go to CITY OF HOPE. The staff in COH are more caring, professional, Oncologist will order PET/CT when it is needed, not just once a year or once every 3 yrs. I hope local oncologist take these cancer patient more seriously. I am also a healthcare professional dealing with patient. I really would like to tell all the local oncologists that you are not family doctors. Please please take your cancer patient more seriously, more closely with your ongoing improving knowledge, not just going by books which you learned 30 years ago.

I am a lower white blood cell patient and have been a patient of Dr. Jenny Ru for several years. Usually her office puts everything on the patient Portal and won’t help the patient print out the prescription/test report and wants to train the patient to use the computer no matter they can or not or charge extra $1.00/paper fee, even though I have Blue Cross/Shield PPO and pay $40 co-pay.

Recently, Dr. Ru’s Portal did not update a lab test order and caused the test results not for this visit checking on 9/28/17 Thursday, then blamed it on my husband’s computer skills. Thus Dr. Ru reordered a blood test and to go to next door Torrance Memorial Hospital (TMHL) lab, she promised TMHL is faster and she will contact me with the results that night or no later than the next morning Friday—but nothing at all.

I have called and left voice mails 9/29&10/2 at her office and sent several emails through the Portal—totally no response. Then emails were put on to two other people without any explanation—it seems she cut me off.

I am a blood patient and my body cannot produce blood regularly so every 3-6 months I need a blood test. It is routine work, the lab test had not been updated and wasted my blood and the lab test charge. Can’t I be concerned about these issues? Why Dr. Ru kicked me out as a penalty?

I think the way I have been treated was unethical. Can’t I complain about her callousness, wasting my blood, and without my agreement kick me to another Doctor even I don’t know who he/she is?
