I just had surgery for sciatic nerve pain on November 4,2015. By the time I was in recovery I could already feel the relief. I had been in severe pain for months. Saw Dr. moncrief on a Friday and had surgery the following Wednesday. Came home on Thursday. WOW I can't say enough good things about Dr. moncrief! I got my life back...but still have to wait 3 weeks to completely recover. IFEEL GREAT!!! Highly recommend him to anyone! BEST ever!

I had back surgery four and a half weeks ago have been having pain ever since I woke up from surgery when I did wake up from surgery they were giving me pain pills instead of another means of pain medications such as IV for pain time was supposed to be in the hospital only one day and was in there for a week was having stomach pain continues to contact the doctors office the staff was terribly rude Finally I took it upon the add price of my homeowners to go to the emergency room due to very high blood pressure and heart rate they did a CT scan which showed a large fragment of this still and my back in between my sciatic nerve I am in more pain than I've been in before can only stand or walk for around 15 or 20 minutes it has taken this long to schedule another MRI and the unfriendliness of the staff has been very difficult to get refills on my pain medications I feel as though I'm being treated like a pain pill addict rather than someone who is in t true dire I'm very disappointed in the care and attention that I've received since my surgery I keep trying to contact him and no one seems to care when I do get a response back from his nurse Jan I get a complete and utter disrespectful attitude I wish I hadn't done more research which I thought I had done in the first place but the more and more I asked around about him now after my surgery I find out that his skills have been very unsatisfactory now I'm stuck in pain not knowing whether or not I'm going to have to have surgery again I feel like I'm just treated as though its not a big deal

Dr. Moncrief has performed 3 separate surgeries on my back. I highly recommend him. He listens to you, answers questions and very respectful. His nurse Jan is an amazing person and very attentive to your questions and needs. The front office staff is horrible but I will overlook that for the treatment I receive from the doctor.

Dr.Moncrief did surgery on my father a few weeks ago and failed to sew him back up completely which led to a staph infection that he will never get rid of 100% and will be on antibiotics for the rest of his life. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM DR. MONCRIEF!!!!!!!!!!!! He needs to retire. After dealing with this horrific incident for the last 3.5 weeks, my father is in a nursing home now, never needed to be in there before. His mind is loopy which it wasn't before, and I may never get my dad back 100%. Please seek out another Dr. in this practice, but DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT let this man operate on you or any of your loved ones. I cannot believe this happened to my dad, but I vow to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else's loved ones!

Dr. Moncrief explained the surgery to my family with me and was very informative. He has a great bedside manner and was able to perform my shunt revision after another doctor wouldn't help me. I'm glad I was referred to his office.

Front desk very unfriendly, both in person and on the phone. Pretty much acted like you were bothering them. I have had relatively short waits, but have also had really long waits (1 1/2 hrs.)

Dr. Moncrief put in 2 shunts for PTC. I had 13 good years in between though. I noticed this time he is much busier, but he still got me in quickly and got the surgery done. He had a very orderly system for seeing patience which helped. I really think specialists in Dayton are suffering from systemic problems in Healthcare. I had been seeing a neurologist, who I call a pharmaceutical vending machine. When I did get back to Moncrief he recongnized that it was a shunt failure and had it replaced within 2 weeks. The neurologist wanted me to take another pill and come back in 3 months. I propably would have been blind if I hadn't insisted that they make an appointment with Moncrief. I could definately see a much more efficient approach to handling patience at Moncriefs office, even though he probably sees twice as many patients as the neurologist. The first time I had the shunt put in I didn't have insurance and he took on my case anyway.

Dr.Moncrief was friendly and informative. He also took plenty of time to explain procedure and dianosis with my family. Dr. Moncrief's appointment time was also good. I waited on average 10 minute's. Dr. Moncrief has great bedside manner. And I have experienced minimal pain since surgery! Barbara Meadows 9/2010

I had a spinal surgery with another doctor in Dayton. It was a disaster, he ruptured another disc which compressed my nerve. Dr. Moncrief was the only doctor in the Dayton area willing to take on another doctor's mess. My initial consultation was in the hospital, he ordered more tests and had me into surgery the next day to repair the damage and seal a severe spinal fluid leak. The spinal fluid leak was severe and he had never seen anything exactly like it. He did research and consulted with doctors around the country. He repaired my back and talked with my wife and I explaining everything that happened. I had 5 follow up appointments with him where he took a lot of time to talk with me and was extremely compassionate about my situation. I would recommend him to anyone. He is a brilliant doctor who truly cares about what he does.
