After having visited 6 different opthamologists in 6 different states within 11 years, I had the best visit with Dr. Hoyle that I have ever had with an eye doctor. He was thorough, punctual, very kind, honest, and offered me probably the best explanation I have heard regarding my vision. With my family history of ocular melanoma, I appreciate that he took his time with me, examining every millimeter of my eyes. Moreover, his staff was more than accommodating to me and to my children who were with me. When I left, I felt like I'd spent 90 minutes with family, not people I'd never met before today. VSP is my vision plan, but it was not one of the choices above. I will recommend Dr. Hoyle to everyone I know.

My first and last visit. My eyes were fine; no complaints whatsoever--I just came in for a routine exam. While preparing to dilate my eyes, Dr. Hoyle stated that he's removing an eyelash from my eye. I hadn't felt it at all. After washing it out with some fluid, the doctor made it a point to show the eyelash to me. I thought that was odd--he seemed a bit preoccupied with it. The insurance statement arrived a few weeks later, showing that Blue Cross declined a claim of $92 for "surgery." I spoke with the doctor's receptionist and found that the procedure was for removal of a "foreign object". I suddenly realized that DR. HOYLE CHARGED $92 FOR REMOVING AN EYELASH. I'm certain that the eyelash was not lodged against my eyeball UNTIL the doctor started the dilation procedure. "Discover" a loose eyelash during the exam, remove, make $92. Wow! The receptionist said that if Blue Cross doesn't pay, she would NOT bill me. 17 mos. later, I get a bill for $92. Will call them again!
