Do not go to this oral surgeon. He doesn't listen, he doesn't make sure you are numb and doesn't care if you are not numb then he will get angry if you flinch or make a noise!!

Honestly, the other review sums it up well. His staff is kind, and they deserve better. Hornaday likely has a god-complex thing going on, since he's one of the very few dentists in Muncie that take medicaid's dental insurance.

I had my wisdom teeth removed recently. When getting the numbing shots, I had asked him to stop for a bit so I could let the laughing gas kick in a bit more. He totally ignored me and kept going. I've had some pretty gross encounters with men not respecting my boundaries in the past, so I started crying. His staff was kind enough to let my husband in before the procedure to help me calm down.

During the procedure, I had heard one of my teeth crack. Which apparently, is normal, and didn't hurt but (understandably) startled me. So I yiped. Instead of saying "Hey, it's going to be ok," or showing any modicum of human empathy, he yelled at me, saying that I "Can't be doing that." Admittedly, I may have been a bit of a "Karen" responding to that (I think I said something like, "How was I supposed to know it was going to do that?", but my memory is pretty hazy) His assistant however was really sweet, and told me when to expect to hear my teeth make more noises like that.

Later, in the same procedure I had wanted to take a quick breather, since, you know, one of my teeth made a cracking noise and I was a little freaked out. Instead of saying "Oh sorry, I can't do that." I am not joking he literally said he was TOO BUSY TO STOP. I know things can be busy in any sort of medical profession, and I can empathize with being overworked but come on.

His staff is great, they answered all of my questions, and are doing their best in a bad situation. Hornaday doesn't care about consent.

I think one of the top priority for any professional working in the dental field should be to provide an experience of comfort and trust.
This doctor was a nightmare. I am 40 years old and I have seen & witnessed many doctors in my life. Many with no bedside manner, many with a god complex, but never have I encountered more of an ass than Anthony Hornaday.
Without going into too much detail, I will just say he left me in a horrible pain situation that landed me in the ER. They had to use dilaudid iv to get the pain to stop. He saw me next day and was angry that I went to the ER and yelled at my mother who was asking details on why I might have been in such pain. He has a fragile little ego - you should not question him at all or seek treatment for an emergency, outside of him. You can not imagine unless you saw it.
To anyone reading this - I read negative reviews on him and felt in my gut I should listen, because my pre procedure experience with him wasn't good. BUT I continued on, realizing not every review would be a good one. Knowing some of the public is irrational. I felt I had gotten that far I should just go through with it. You know, all the ways you talk yourself out of trusting your gut? Listen to me... if you're already questioning it, or looking for a place to start, keep looking. This guy is the worst. An ego like that can be dangerous - I don't see him being able to admit something he did is ever wrong. You can see someone else and should.
