Would't even make an appointment with me, after talking to me on the phone. She does specialize in gastroenterology doesn't she. She didn't want to see me for only selfish reasons if you ask me, or she is either unqualified to be a doctor.

Dr Cruz is so patient and incredibly thorough. As others have said, it is sometimes hard to get to her. I've never met a GI doc as thorough or diligent especially with complex cases.

Seriously? This place is a joke. Dr. Cruz seems very friendly. Unfortunately, I have yet to meet her. Instead I am always forced to see their nurse practitioner who always smells like she smoked a pack then tried to cover up the smell with a gallon of perfume, but only after they make you sit through infomercials on their supplements. Then after I see their "health professional" that smokes, I am forced to speak with their holistic nutritionist who makes you sound like you are going to drop dead if you don't buy their supplements. Do yourself a favor, go to another GI. I am.

From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you'll constantly be questioning if you are visiting a doctor or a name brand. It starts with the tshirts and "swag", escalates to a full blown commercial for the doctors supplements that you're required to watch and wraps up with a request to subscribe to their podcast. If you haven't been swayed, they send in the closer to tell you more about the doctors seminars and other add ons that you can pay for at the door. Although one of the friendliest staffs I've encountered, I can't help but feel I'm at a time share seminar with out the added perk of a free incentive for sitting through it.

I made an appointment with Dr. Cruz with the advice of a girl friend. You do not see the dr, you end up seeing a very unpleasant, demanding nurse practitioner, Nicole. Nicole told me that I could not see Dr. Cruz, I would have to see a D.O. doctor. She told me I would be operated on for my colonoscopy at Westwood (?) Hospital in Avondale. This is a for profit hospital in Avondale, AZ and I told Nicole that I had heard bad things about that hospital and preferred not to go there. She said they would send me there regardless. After 2 days of thinking about my treatment, I decided that I would see a better doctor and I did immediately call and cancel. They asked me why and I told them. I told them that they gave me a second opinion. They phoned and said they would send me a discharge letter. Also in the paper work they gave me it said if I did not turn up the day of the surgery they charge me $200. This office is a rip off and I will urge people not to go there.
