My husband and I had a very upsetting consult with this dr via telemed. When in the ‘waiting room’, he did not mute his mic and we could hear his entire conversation with another woman. For our consult, he was unprepared, unprofessional, careless, arrogant, belittling, the list goes on. He attempted to deliver some serious information in such a careless manner, and the information was ultimately wrong when speaking to another MFM doctor. I would NOT recommend him for any medical care.

I have seen this doctor twice so far and these have both been very upsetting experiences. I can handle a "poor bedside manner" but I cannot handle a specialist who is unprepared, unprofessional and doesn't seem to care. He sounds like he is winging a consultation without any background information about you (doesn't read the file). He delivers very serious information about your future baby in a very frustrating way. He can say non-chalantly that there could be something serious wrong with your baby, then take 10 minutes talking about something completely irrelevant. He doesn't know how to deliver information that seems to be common sense. He is also patronizing. When we walked into his office the first time, he was on his computer looking at real estate and had it on the screen for at least half of our consultation. This should have been a red flag for me. He didn't know anything about us and was just pushing expensive testing without knowing our history. By the time the second appointment came around, he still hadn't obtained our full history when he said he would have. So again, he was giving us very serious and uninformed assessments of our baby. I can handle someone who struggles to talk to people, but I cannot handle incompetence on top of complacency. Especially considering that this is the most important thing in the world to me and we pay out the nose for these appointments. The staff also needs to be trained more effectively. Tomorrow we are looking for a new doctor. These appointments are not only non-value added, but they are causing undue stress on a pregnant woman and her family.

Dr. Hernandez is a very good doctor. I have no complaints about him. He delivered my baby and I had no problems after my daughters birth. His staff however needs lots of training with patients. One of the staff actually told me my test results were negative for any defect and that when something goes wrong they normally call you in. She said to call the doctor the following week b/c he was out of town and had to give me the information. When I called they told me the doctor had to see me right away! Wow was I in shock. When we get to dr.hernandez office he tells me sthat one of the test came back positive for down syndrome. He assured me everything would be alright. Isn't that information that should only be discussed with docotr hernandez? She should not have said anything! They are mostly little girls working there with attitudes. Don't ask them to do your leave paperwork for your jobs it takes them at least a month! In the end I had a healthy baby thanks to Dr Hernandez!
