Before my father passed in December of last year, Dr. Van Horn helped him more than I ever would've imagined possible. His staff was definitely hit or miss, but his treatment protocols helped my father stay sharp for years.

You are rushed in and out in a couple minutes. I feel like it was a money making machine funded by health insurance. His secretary, Krystal, was extremely rude. I was blown away by his infomercial he makes you watch on your first visit. Unfortunately, he didn't meet the expectation he set. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Extremely ghetto hot headed secretary have no issues with Dr Vanhorn but his secretary is ghetto and refuses to answer my phone calls or to return them...simply when I asked why I have to come in so frequently to just take a simple antidepressant. She got an attitude and now refuses to answer my call. I think she needs treatment and meds herself.

Dr. Van horn has no interest in patient care. He misdiagnosed a family member and made it so that he can't get any help from otber sources. He lied to my face about tests that never existed and has prescribed medicine that is not helping a memory issue. I will file a complaint with the medical board as well as bring him up on charges for total lack of responsible patient care.

Dr. Van Horn was my doctor in Atlanta, GA. where he treated me for depression/anxiety for 4 years. Turns out many years later I had underlying thyroid/adrenal issues all along, but nobody knew. Most doctors never look into those things - they just prescribe and tweak and depend on you to alert them to symptoms. But he helped me sleep. He prescribed an OLD tricyclic antidepressant because he said he wouldn't give Zoloft to his dog. Well, imipramine made sick as a dog after 4 years. Cardiac toxicity. Tachycardia, hypertension, panic, sick, sick, sick. Had to find a cardiologist pronto. Tried to reach Van Horn when I hit this crisis and discovered he had taken his shingle down and left town. Now practices in Conway, SC. I will never go back to a psychiatrist because of this. I liked him very much. Not trying to bash anyone.Unfortunate for me that he left me in a lurch. If your doctor doesn't explain "informed consent" - perhaps you need to go elsewhere.
